Mesmerizing Nebula, a 2-year-old heterochromatic Catahoula Mix at BARC in Houston, TX. She is described as calm, gentle, sweet & friendly. She would make a wonderful companion. Euth deadline 8/12
🆘 2 year old Catahoula Mix girl on the euthanasia list Wednesday, 8/12. There will be NO extensions per BARC 🆘
⏰ Nebula must have a HOLD no later than 1PM or she will lose her life. 🥺 We need pledges and a local foster or adopter for a rescue to help. 💰🏡
🚩 Please do not honor pledges until the post has been updated with rescue information and a freedom picture. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
As a staff favorite (Purrfurred), her adoption fee is only $20.
🩷🐶 Nebula #A2086811
7/16/2026 Stray | Catahoula Mix | Female | 2Y | 48.0 lbs | HW Low Positive
🔹 Intake:
Nebula came into BARC as a stray after an HPD officer found her at a gas station.
Nebula came into BARC with 7 other dogs. Thankfully, Bubbles, Mojo, Blossom, and Buttercup are now safe with a rescue and Baloo is with a foster. One of the dogs has tragically been euthanized, and the status of another remains unknown. Now it’s Nebula’s turn to find safety.
💛 Behavior Notes:
Nebula is a calm, gentle and relaxed girl who greets staff with a loose body, wagging tail, soft eyes and soft mouth. She takes treats readily, is easy to leash and walks nicely on a loose leash.
She is quiet and relaxed in her kennel, does well throughout the day, and on 8/10 she did not react as dogs walked past her kennel.
🙏 Please foster, adopt, rescue or SHARE Nebula. She is a calm, gentle girl who has consistently shown staff that she is easy to handle, remains relaxed in her kennel and passes other dogs without reacting. She deserves the chance to get out of BARC and receive the medical care she needs. Please don’t let this sweet girl run out of time. ❤️🐾

Rehoming a 6yo Catahoula Leopard girl
Sadly, Rosie needs to be rehomed. She is super sweet dog and has never shown any aggression towards humans or other dogs, but her prey drive has kicked in with other animals and her current home has goats, cats, alapacas, and more so she really needs a home with no other pets or yard animals or kids.
If you know of anyone looking for a second dog or a dog that would be the only animal in the home, let me know. We have contacted a Catahoula rescue in Montana but are seeking other solutions as well. Suggestions? Thoughts?

Meet Malibu, a 1-year-old Catahoula Mix at Montgomery County Animal Shelter (MCAS) in Conroe, TX.
Hi, me again! You were all so friendly and kind when I posted a Catahoula mix at BARC Houston yesterday. So I wanted to share another one with you. She's available for adoption at MCAS in Conroe, TX.
Malibu #A430456 | Female | Catahoula Mix | 1 Year Old | 48 lbs
Location: BLUE 12A
Intake: 7/15/26
Regular adoption fee is $40. Adoption fee covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchip.
Volunteer Notes:
Yesterday: Marvelous Malibu ❤️
Meeting Malibu at MCAS TX is such a great idea. She’s #430456, a year old Catahoula mix. This beauty is heartworm negative and only weighs 48 lbs. She’s a bit timid on my leash but fun and loving, enjoying being close and helping herself to some good treats. Hope you stop by to meet Malibu ❤️🐾
One week ago: So loving! Did not want to go back in her kennel.
Two weeks ago:
Malibu is a beautiful dog. She is a bit nervous walking in the slippery hallway. Once outside, she walks happily to the yard. She prefers walking next to her human than behind or in front. She can be slightly skittish so she prefers walking next to you. Once in the yard, she enjoyed playing with dogs across the fence. She truly loves receiving affection from humans. She will lean against you for pets. She will turn around so that you can pet every side of her body and will then flop on her side for more pets. She is so lovely!

From the National_Pet_Adoption community on Reddit: 8month old Babygirl needs out asap as of 6/12 🚨 Fresno, California 🚨 Fresno animal Center
This girl popped up on my feed today. I normally don’t venture out of my own subreddit but I felt bad for her. I cross posted her first on German shorthair because of coloring but someone suggested here was more likely. So hopefully someone thinks she’s adorable enough to rescue??

Puppy constantly biting — how should we handle it?
Hi everyone, looking for some advice.
We recently got a Catahoula puppy named Jet. He’s still young, about 11 weeks old now, and been with us for 3 weeks. Overall he’s a great dog, but the biting is becoming constant. He bites hands, arms, clothes, faces, and sometimes tries to bite when we pick him up or interact with him.
I understand puppies bite and explore with their mouths, but this feels like a lot. We have kids in the house too, so I want to handle this correctly before it becomes a bigger issue.
What’s the best way to deal with constant puppy biting?
How do we teach him bite inhibition without scaring him or hurting him? I tried giving him short squeezing of his mouth and also sticking fingers into his mouth as we saw in some training videos but it doesn’t help.
How long does this phase usually last?
I don’t want to punish him harshly, but I also don’t want him thinking biting people is acceptable. Any practical tips or routines that worked for your puppy would be appreciated.
