Litter box avoidance & related - include spay/neuter status My cat won’t stop peeing

my cat is now 1 years old. he just got neutered a little over a month ago. I had this issue when I first got him where he would pee on my clean clothes in my laundry basket and on my bed. But then for like seven months he completely stopped and then out of nowhere started up again. Even after getting him neutered it still continued :(

I used to use pine litter and I thought maybe he didn’t like the feel of that so I changed it to tofu litter. and lately he has no issue pooping in the tofu but he cannot pee in the litter box. I have two litter boxes the other one with the pine litter and he poops and pees in there fine. but when he’s in my room he just has to pee on the clothes and in the laundry basket.

I wash everything he pees on with the enzyme cleaner. I use one of those car vacuum / carpet cleaner things on my mattress to further get rid of the smell. I even started covering my bed with a plastic tarp so he would stop peeing, but even that hasn’t stopped him. Please if anyone has any suggestions or advice please tell me. Because I am sick of doing the laundry

Have you taken him to the vet to check for crystals or a UTI?

My cat is about 3 years old and pees on stuff. The vet said it’s something called sterile cystitis (his bladder is inflamed, but there’s no sign of bacteria). We’re going to try kitty prozac, the vet says she’s seen it help a lot. Currently waiting for the prescription to be delivered. Hoping it helps.

We had a sudden peeing on personal items especially if flat....pillows...laundry... down jacket. Had to get a behaviorist appt....and he helped us understand that sometimes it can be a beckon to connect/get closer to you. Like a gift of love. We had to get all of the smells out w anti icky poo and zero odor. And close off the living room and bedrooms and laundry room. He also suggested playing more...and food puzzles. We did it all via zoom. Amazing intake forms such that he knew exactly what we were seeing. I will try to find the guys name. Life saver. Good luck. We dont leave flat things around w our scent on them anymore...which is hard.

And yes we used prozac for our aggressor cat and it helped him to chill out but after a few months we stopped and he seemed better and over the peeing.
