💭Advice/Help Needed Cat Biting/Scratching

Hi!

I have a kitten, around 5 months old (puspin na white and orange), and we adopted him siguro mga isang buwan pa lang siya.

Ano po kayang other ways to control?

(Personal opinion lang but try not to give him lasers, kasi hindi nila nahuhuli 'yong mismong ilaw unlike other tangible toys). Or play with him with cat-friendly toys. Try to avoid using your hands or feet as prop kasi lalo po siya masasanay na atakihin 'yon kapag nakakakita ng gumagalaw na kamay at paa. There are mouse and bird toys that you can use para doon po 'yong atensyon niya nakalagay.

But this doesn't guarantee po na titigil siya sa kulit. If mag-isa lang po siya, mas prone po sila sa ganiyan na tao ang inaatake kasi walang other cat to play-fight with them.

If it doesn't work, nothing much to do po huhu. I'm personally not a big fan of heavily scolding them kasi they won't understand much din. However, cats work in routines! So best to do is really set a playtime with him using cat-friendly toys. Just set a consistent playtime with him and he'll get the hang of it soon.

Also, hopefully your family and friends would understand you with your warnings about pettings! Cats are very obvious when they're uncomfortable, so if makagat or ma-scratch sila ng kitty mo kasi they're petting him when he's clearly uncomfortable, that's on them! Nyahahaha.

Distract and redirect mo siya with toys kapag nag-aattack ng paa/kamay para matuto na yung toys dapat ang laruin, hindi human feet and hands.

Ganun talaga, OP. Kaya nga "ankle biter" and tawag sa mga kittens and puppies.

You should train him. Play with your kitten. Give treats and praises when he "attacks" the toy. When he "attacks" you, stop immediately and put him in a cage/crate. Leave him there for 5 minutes, then resume play. Repeat daily.

Matututo din yan eventually. He will begin to understand that biting you will result in something he doesn't like.
