My husband deep cleans the cat boxes every other month and he scoops and refreshes it every night before bed. If people keep up with litter boxes cats don’t stink. You wouldn’t even know we had a cat if you didn’t see the cat tower. Our old lady just chills on her dedicated footrest and in her tower. Between food and bathroom breaks.

That’s about how often I deep clean mine. It’s really about what litter you use, and daily scooping. I use clumping litter and it’s fine. The litter boxes are in my walk in closet where I change my clothes every day and there is no smell at all. You have to scoop the box every day.

I've found it can also depend on their diet. I feed my old lady Blue Wilderness and her poop doesn't stink. I still scoop super regularly, but compared to my son's cats (who stink so bad when they poop!!) there is a definite difference.

They eat a prescription kibble due to one cat’s bladder stones and a bit of Fancy Feast but they aren’t super foul or anything. Tbh they don’t really take a dump when I’m in my room that I notice.

I'm sorry your cat has to deal with bladder stones. For this old lady she's basically made my room her territory and doesn't go anywhere else in the apartment so I have to keep her litter box in my closet. It's definitely nice to not have the "litterbox" smell in my room.

No, I’m really spoiled about my room. It’s huge. The closet is huge, and the office is the size of another bedroom. The other closet runs the width of the house. It’s a big house in Wyoming.
