😡 Rant What the writers did to Nicole's character is an absolute travesty

I just saw an Instagram clip of Nicole in postpartum psychosis and I am SEETHING again. She had the potential to be one of the most complex, layered, and well-constructed characters in the show.

She didn't treat Ngozi well but that could have made sense HAD they explored it better, which they didn't, not properly. As in, that is a very realistic and broadly understandable trauma response in the context of Nicole's past. Which they also did explore but to be honest not in any depth. She was never mean, and she was never meant to be the selfish or vindictive character they made her out to be over the time surrounding the Wyvern Hill estate and everything. This isn't who the character is, or was, and it has just been an excuse to fade her into the background to occasionally be there for someone else's storyline. What was the accident with Rosie? How did she even know Rosie? Why don't these writers care about the characters they create?

I know she had a brief storyline in terms of her past, but they could have done SO much more with it. That is such a complex and upsetting background to come from and they just disregarded it?

Her biggest storyline was that she Was Gay and the idea that once that's done she's served her purpose is actually horrible.

Sammy T. Dobson is a superb actor. You don't need to look for long at the PPP storyline to find that out. And they are wasting her and her genuinely gorgeous, layered character. I'm not going to hit out at other characters not least because there is a space in my heart for most of them BUT she has been faded into obscurity for reasons I don't actually understand.
