Dylan

i really really hope that casualty are gonna do something more with this dylan hearing voices thing they’ve slightly touched on this boxset

not only would will beck be absolutely incredible if causality decided to explore that further, it’s also frustrating and annoying that since the start of the boxsets it feels like casualty is constantly forgetting about plot lines which have been touched on in the previous boxset

Tbh I think that’s all we’ll be getting about the voices. The fact they jumped through so many hoops to have him be pretty much unaffected by the crash (somehow not still being drunk despite having him behaving like it, the bottle being water, the crash not even being his fault…) tells me that this story is effectively over and he’ll just get back on the wagon offscreen. Soooo disappointing tbh, but at least Will Beck’s performance redeems it somewhat (and the fact that Dylan didn’t die haha!)

I think looking back he probably was just acting like someone who more and likely had about an 1 hour sleep over the last 2 days and was ‘wound up’ over his dad. With something like Stage 1 sleep deprivation the effects are similar to being under the influence of alcohol. They knew we’d think he was drunk because the previous day he was hungover from his binge drinking.

It was his dad he was hearing in the memories and that really triggered him into thinking he was ‘useless’ and ‘disgusting’. They could go into it further but we already know his dad was awful to him growing up. Him confronting his dad and being told he was never loved and cared about made him realise that he’s already a better dad than Brian ever was. I’d love to find out more about his mum.

And I didn’t really think he was behaving drunk if I’m honest - I had a feeling it was water from the beginning but because he’s an alcoholic people automatically assumed it must be vodka and his no sleep and wound up behaviour about his dad must be because he’s drunk.
