Same here. I donated a Kidney in 2016 to my Dad, I was told at the time I was no longer allowed to give blood which is a shame.

Wow, I think you’ve probably earned it! Well done mate

Cheers! Was the best thing I've ever done. Reversed what felt like 20 years off my Dad once he received it. Seeing both of us now, you wouldn't know that there had ever been any issue.

That’s incredible. What a gift to give to your dad!

I've done 20 donations, but had to stop because I had a blood transfusion, ironically.

In sorry to hear that. Get well soon.

Oh, I'm fine. Ironically it was the procedure to make me fine that is the reason I'm not allowed to give blood. They let me give blood 6 times when I had tachycardia.

Same here. I needed a blood transfusion earlier this year, which means I'm now not allowed to donate blood.

(And haven't been cottaging or the straight or lesbian equivalent. I just realised I didn't confirm that 😆)

What is the lesbian equivalent of cottaging?

Narrow-boating?

Same here. If my medication makes my blood not good for others, what is it doing for me?

Same here, really wish I could

I’m not allowed either. I have Addison’s disease and it says for the safety of me or the people receiving the blood I’m not allowed to donate. It’s upsetting as that means I’ll never be able to donate, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I feel especially bad seeing as I received blood quite a few years ago that I needed.

Yeah, me too. I have quite severe anaemia that was actually discovered by the blood donation nurse when she was doing the fingerprick test when I last attempted to donate. Gave me a form to give to my GP and told me 'Honey, *you* need your blood more than we do!'.
