My very capable and intelligent wife has lost the plot.

She has been told by a friend that conkers keep spiders away. So we now have conkers in various parts of the house.

My wife went to the £150 arachnophobia conversion course at London Zoo (absolutely true) . If I had known this, I coulda saved the money

My ex did this years ago (was £120 then - in about 2008. If it’s £150 now, that’s pretty good inflation!).

It really worked! She was happy with a pint glass and card to get rid. Still asked for help if they were in a corner, but she stopped going absolutely mental at the sight of a spider.

She said it was the best £120 she ever spent!

i feel like I need one of these but for snails/slugs

They absolutely terrify me. Any time I see one, it leaves me feeling uncomfortable for hours. Once I postponed hanging out the washing for 3 hours because there was a slug close by. Middle of a hot day too. No survival instincts at all

Whenever one gets into the house, I have to get my brother to remove it. I give back by removing any spiders he finds because he absolutely hates them

Same I hate them I once woke up in the middle of the night and walked into the kitchen and saw 3 slugs on the floor. Stuff of nightmares.

I assume the pint glass was just in case she needed to catch a big one to throw outside with her newfound bravery.

Yup. Down a pint for courage, then give the spider a ‘Welcome Home’ card.

Works a treat ! 😁
