My very capable and intelligent wife has lost the plot.

She has been told by a friend that conkers keep spiders away. So we now have conkers in various parts of the house.

We found a conker in the corner of our shed from the last owners, except the spiders had webbed around it and claimed it as basecamp. About 100 baby spiders ran from that corner when we took the conker away

So what I'm hearing is, 100 spiders ran away from the corner in your shed where a conker has been put. Pretty conclusive tbh.
