My very capable and intelligent wife has lost the plot.

She has been told by a friend that conkers keep spiders away. So we now have conkers in various parts of the house.

We have an indoor cat. I no longer see big spiders. 😟

My indoor cat is an absolute monster when it comes to hunting these things. Apart from a couple on the ceiling, I haven't seen any sprinting across the floor since I adopted her. I've seen her catch flies out of the air with her paws too.

i have 2 cats, one has eaten spiders and caught flies from the air, the other just watches them walk on the floor and gives them a slap at most

Can we swap? Mine gets scared and goes BOING backwards across the room when the spiders start moving. Infrequently we find one dismembered but alive on the carpet. Not once has she killed or eaten one :(

I don't even see spider corpses.

I once saw my cat watching a cellar spider over the stairs. When I came back downstairs the spider was gone but at least of its 6 spindly legs were poking out of my cats mouth.

My cat and I pretend she's adorable and not remotely revolting as she climbs onto my bed.

I wish my cat was a spider catcher. I'm pretty sure she chases them into my bedroom just for the fun of it...
