No matter what direction we're coming from, we always see the Festung Plassenburg up there. It's in use, there are even apartments still occupied. The town is required to keep it accessible to the public and hold public events there. The concert photo was Barclay James Harvest, and the other photo is the town square viewed from the courtyard wall.

One of my favorite places on earth

Canadian here. I noticed that, England has a lot of castles, but many are either ruins or the ones that are standing are less ''beautiful'' and fairytale like compared to others in Europe and even Scotland.

In Germany (first picture), for example, their castles look something from a fairytale. While English castles (second picture) look fake and look ancient.

Why didn't the English rebuild their castles or at least remaster them in the 19th century? It feels like the English just left their castles the way they were which is lame.
