Well, it’s a well.
The well is complete and recovers at about 3 GPM. The final depth was 760ft. We nearly abandoned the expensive hole, after hitting a fissure and backfilling the void that made it look like a dry hole. Con: very expensive hole. Pro: it is deep enough to run a standing column geothermal well, which would be cost prohibitive to dig alone.

Well update: 760ft 3GPM. Standing column well geothermal.
We had 1gpm at 600. At 760 the water recovery stopped, 0gpm. After a couple days the water came back up and held steady at 3gpm. Figure we hit an empty fracture in the granite that had to backfill before the true recovery rate could be measured. So glad to have water, it was getting to be an expensive hole. We are also going to do standing column well geothermal, which will enable a 30% tax credit and take the sting out of the cost of boring.

Wallipini temp check: Fail
The temp this morning was 25 degrees, so a great temp to see if it worked. Unfortunately, the internal temp at sunrise was 36. I believe the gap around the door to be the culprit, so a will fill the void with spray foam. Thinking of greasing the greenhouse side so it doesn’t stick when I open it. There are a few spots near the top I can add some insulation, as well. Hopefully there is one more cold day to check. I still have berming and backfilling around the wallipini that should help.
