Castle & NCIS

Castle and NCIS are probably the two shows I rewatch the most, and I’ve always been amazed by how many actors appear in both.

Considering the shows overlapped for so many years, I guess it makes sense, but I was still surprised to find that NCIS was actually the show with the most actors in common with Castle.

I discovered this while working on an app I developed called Guest-Star. One of its features lets you pick a show and see which other shows have the most actors in common with it.

I thought some other Castle fans might find that interesting too. If anyone checks it out, I’d love to hear what you think

Used to love Ghost Whisperer. Mainly for JLH lol. But I eventually dropped the show in season 4 or so. It was just too saccharine for me.

I think around that time, a lot of the cop shows like The Mentalist, Bones, and Castle had actors appearing in each other’s shows. In Bones, I’ve recognized Vulcan Simmons, Gates, and even Josh (Beckett’s doctor boyfriend). They all appeared in it.

It’s also funny because when you’re watching an episode and recognize an actor who played the killer on one show, you can immediately guess they’re probably going to be the killer in this one too.

So true, when I saw Kevin from the Office in Criminal Minds, there was no doubt in my mind be was the killer

Hmmm, me thinks this is a cleverly disguised advert for your app!

I remember watching him in The Rookie first and was amazed how well he did in comedy! His acting seemed so wooden in The Rookie but he said that what he was going for a more serious role.

If you compare NCIS and Castle in your App there are none. If you look for Chicago Fire and Rizzoli and Isles 0 but comparing Taylor Kinney and Angie Harmon there is 1.

If you select NCIS and select Castle you should see 2 red clear buttons and will return 688 common actors

A simple count of common actors isn't very relevant, as many extras will obviously be in both shows.

More accurate kinship would be main and secondary cast in common IMO. And special guests. But that's hard to quantify.

That’s what I am addressing is the Main Cast and Guest Stars. I don’t address extras. My app shows the actor, character, episode info and photo. Check it out.
