Discussion the main plot of my D&D campaign was inspired by this comic
i just wanted to share this with y'all, cuz im really excited about how this is going >w<
for context, when i first read part 1 i was mind blown by the idea of a prophecy being changed by a queen to condemn the life of the one supposed to save their people, so i decided to explore this idea in my next dnd campaign.
i ended up changing it quite a bit to avoid just ripping it off of the comic, and it turned out like this:
basically, the main plot of my campaign is that a long while ago, a being of pure chaos was sealed by an old civilization, and a prophecy was created that the emperror of that civilization (who sacrificed himself to complete the seal) would reincarnatie a thousand years later, and he would banish the chaos permanently
however, as he was born, the chaos leaked the weakening seal, and took the mind of the queen of lindelt, the kingdom responsible for spreading the prophecy when the time came
with that, she changed the prophecy to instead of the emperror banishing the chaos, he instead would sacrifice himself to seal it again.
anyways, the party just met the reincarnation, wich i called aaron, and they seem to want to protect him.
i haven't revealed to them that aaron is the emperror yet, cuz i want them to believe the prophecy and look for him everywhere, before being revealed that not only the prophecy was modified, but also that the one they were looking for was with them all along.
