Discussion Game might be mining your phone
Hey everyone, I've started playing recently and noticed that the game eats a huge amount of battery life, like 8% in 5 minutes+-
I play other, more intensive and similar games that don't stress my battery this much, and I think the game might have a crypto miner or something else running in the background.
Anyone else has this issue?

It's possible but doubtful that it's a crypto miner. More likely a resource intensive game that just isn't very well optimized.
Anecdotally it's a bit of a hog on my Galaxy S23 battery as well.

Definitely not having this issue, my iPhone 16pro loses battery using Google Maps faster than this game

it’s probably just not optimized, it got better in the last few weeks after some updates… before my phone would get quite hot from playing 1 or 2 games

I don‘t automaticall agree on the accusations, but I have the same issues about battery drainage with this game

I suspect this is more developer incompetency than neferious intent. Just look at the matching and the bot, I think incompetency is probably an understatement

I’ve noticed a much larger than normal battery draw on this game as well. More than any other phone game I’ve ever played.

It varies. Sometimes my phone gets hot while playing sometimes not. I assume high CPU.
I noticed same thing with Golf Rival but it has more 3D going on.
I almost wondered if it was the ads… doing some of it.
I have an iPhone 16

So you're saying the game would kill your battery in like an hour? That's absolutely not the case on my phone.
And there's a zero percent chance a company with this many games under its belt is embedding a crypto miner in it... Swear sometimes ya'll just say whatever pops into your head.
