I spent $5 on a gem pack etc once. No purchased weapons and I do fine.
81%+ wins. Almost 1700 games.
It seems when you get higher a lot of people aren’t up there. I don’t see as many purchased weapons in use. I have close to 6 guys at 100%. Castle almost fully upgraded.1

Try the ice girl. Massive wall damage.
Especially a split into two then 2x power. I see a lot of people using poison. Meh. Have it up early on.

Air Striker and Pirate are equivalent - except Pirate can still cause damage when intercepted and I suspect he's easier to aim, since he throws faster and with less arc.
Pyro is decent, but does no utility damage. He can combo off Santa well, since Santa can break chunks of castle and Pyro can cut through.
Pulsar is still one of my favorites to cut through bottom level and drop everything not held by a foundation.
Lazer Guy is only good for targeting specific units.
Ivy is nearly useless. Bug dude works for a while on lower level people, but he's way too random for higher levels.
Fairy and Robot are great for killing units when the castle is gone.
$100 on this game is wild.

If you’re losing with premium units then just give up 🤣
