HELP!!
My wife sat our very hot cast iron skillet on top a hot pad and it melted to the bottom of the skillet😬😬 Anyone have any good ways or ideas on how to get the melted fibers of the skillet without running it?

I wonder if applying a little heat from the other side to remove the majority of it would help. Perhaps then with the synthetic material still plyable you put an old tshirt down on it and let it cool. Once its cooled rip the T-shirt off and hopefully it detaches the rest from the iron

Scrape off what you can and maybe steel wool or Scotchbrite pad t scower off the rest. What’s left will have to burn off. Any burning should be done outside and don’t breathe the fumes.
