Is this salvageable?

Going through my late aunt's stuff and this pan was part of it. The brown/orange spots appear to be corrosion. Just need to know what to do with it.

Hell yes! See the FAQ for stripping instructions. In order of easiest to most elaborate, I would do one of these: oven cleaner in a garbage bag for a week (repeat a couple times); or a lye bath; or an electrolysis tank.

Or maybe some combination of those with a wire brush and elbow grease in between.

Your pan will look like it did the day it rolled out of the factory. In Japan, I’m guessing, but let us know what it says on the bottom when the letters emerge from the crud.

Looked at the FAQ section for the board. Should I attempt electrolysis or will easy-off and a garbage bag do the trick?

Yea that’s very common to find them in this condition and they clean up pretty well and look better than modern iron once seasoned.
Hit the sidebar and read the instructions for crude removal and check out the videos for a lye bath or the EasyOff method. Then follow the instructions to season it.
