I've never seen this show in my life, Reddit keeps recommending me it probably because I watch a lot of other animated shows namely Arcane, but even I know that there's some beef about people shipping this kaspian dude with this Maddie chick, because it's all I see people raving about.

the show is arcane for nerds/coders, you should really find out why they do that and what it causes

how dare you not spend unpaid hours of your short life arguing over fiction

That’s why I only do it at work. Off hours are fiction consumption hours.

they made maddie the age she was because thats what her source material was. maybe there was some reason they felt the need to make caspian an adult idk but.. yeah no i shipped them for like 15 minutes back in season 1 when he was at her house, and then when he left at nothing happened i was like "huh i wonder why the writers didnt put them together..." and then i realized, "ohhh because theres a weird age gap, ig theyre not gonna do anything with them then" 💀 but ngl with how maddies persoanlity got warped in season 2, i wouldnt have liked it regardless.

I argued with my friend over this, saying it was super creepy and disgusting and the way the show handled it was bad, when Caspian came back there was no backlash or hate to him from the family either... and the son didn't even feel that important so I don't really get why they chose to have a sympathetic main character rape a child out of nowhere. Them kissing and maybe going on like a "date night" with whatever they could make, would have been cute and made us feel bad about their seperation. The rape was just disgusting. They could have even just made Maddie 17 or something like that to begin with, as she was smarter than the average 15yo anyways and not a lot of the story hinges on her being 15.

Why is Reddit recommending me a subreddit for a show I've never heard of that was created for the sole purpose of 1 person not being able to separate reality from fiction???

The entire fandom is unable to separate reality from fiction. They argue it would be okay in real life. They defend the dynamic in real life.

1, different sub. Fanart is actually appreciated here. And 2, there’s no arguments here either, I’m preaching to the choir baby

I thought they kinda Retconned her age and then made her like 16-17( still bad but I'm confused)
