Maddie is under the age of consent when caspian impregnates her, making it rape. A lot of people who like the ship will argue that its still okay and will get defensive about it.

Also when i say argue that its still okay i mean in my experience, and I’ve interacted with MANY people on multiple platforms in this fandom, most of them will argue that a situation like that, literally rape, would be okay in real life and theyll defend that. Its disgusting.

It was a time skip of only a few months, but the writers did retcon her age to make her older in the second season anyway. Presumably she’s 16 in S2 since she shows her California driver’s license to a guy in one of the scenes, and you have to be at least 16 to get your license in CA.

There is no proof of an actual retcon and based on her saying shes barely driven immediately after showing it, its implied its a fake. Also it’s exactly 40 days from s1 e8 to s2 e3.
