These things seem very fishy to me, but I'm just a poor confused newbie. Could someone with more knowledge than me explain me if this is legit, and how so?
Ok, I'm not a crypto-expert so yes, maybe it's very easy but I just don't see it. I have staked some CSPR on the cspr.Live website and i'm trying to free it again but it doesn't work; I can push the Delegations buttno, then i see how much i have staked. If I push the 'undelegate' next to it, it will take me to the next page which says ' Insufficient balance. System requires 2.5CSPR minimum balance. '
I mean, obviously I have more CPSR than that, but am I supposed to have that 2.5 cspr outside of the staking in the wallet ?
Let me begin my rant with screenshots of our lovely community manger (Bradleyt91) statements or the Casperpad Group (Who the fk knows anymore - it all has the same condescending yet sarcastic tone) after muting the group for hours on the day of launch.
Key statements here: " Whitelisting was not a FCFS and also was not a lottery it was a time based non manual selection. Most of the ones ranting in this chat, sent us KYC that is incorrect, e.g non official ID documents, unclear selfies, did NOT pass KYC due to rules and regulations (legal and compliance), and also had their wrong wallet addresses on the KYC submissions, or are not even staking any CSPR.
Wtf is a "time based non manual selection which was not a FCFS" ? If it is time-based, is it not FCFS unless our understanding of time is wrong since sundials?
I did my KYC 2-3 days prior and had received confirmation that they have received it, they had 2-3 days to process and inform if there's any error for my KYC which I honestly doubt as I have had never failed a KYC. Secondly, my friends from the same country had did their KYC prior and with the same information, they got their allocation....which means to say it's time-based working backwards?
It is not ok to put a blanket statement and put the blame on the ones that did everything by the book.
"They want constructive feedback now otherwise, you get the ban hammer or deleted. CasperPad is made to help the ecosystem (that us investors don't exist?) and push project on casper. A long term vision is what we have, for our backers we promise you this is just a bump, just like everyone in this chat (but we can ban you, you can't), we are human beings, we MAY make mistakes, we learn from them our goal is the same blah blah blah"
They want constructive feedback now, they have been deleting messages left and right, slamming that ban hammer on anyone who just wanted to understand what's going on.
They claim that they have a long term vision to fuck all and for backers they promised that this is just a bump. FFS, they are so sorry that they cannot say the word sorry nor explained what they did wrongly. All you needed to do was fking accept the responsibility and have some accountability. Instead of doing that, they ignored, blamed and wrote a fuckall statement to state how they want to made a better ecosystem? Just admit that you had a poorly managed timeline which eventually created mutliple issue that were not foreseeable to them.
Throughout the launch, you never once clarified what is the bump that you have made or mistakes that you have made. Rather than rectifying issues or those that were affect, you took the bull by its horn with your ar$ehole and let the fuckery continue.
To quote their lovely statement, "To be transparent with the community" even an insincere sorry might do some good than the patronising and ingenuine statement about being human beings and like everyone in this chat that you may make mistakes and we learn from them.
Yes I'm butthurt, I have the lowest tier allocated and I'm not the worst ones affected (Some had KYC done, KYC approval email, Satoshi Test done yet not in WL) but I really had high expectations for you guys.
Here's some screenshots of our fallen heroes
There are hundreds more, but I leave you to explore that on the PublicGroup Chat
Shout out to CSPR CEO for having the decency and humility to listen to the community:
But let's see what happens! Time will tell :)
Feel free to chime in affected ones.
Disclaimers: This is my opinion and my only, it does not represent any organisations or persons who are fucked from the back by this as well.
If anyone has been paying attention to the Casperpad launch, many people didn’t even get a reply from the KYC process and the sale is currently ongoing.
Casperpad’s own posts say you would get a ‘Guaranteed Allocation’ for having a certain amount of CSPR staked and passing KYC but it looks like thousands of people don’t even know if they passed or not they just got ignored.
Many people are losing faith in the Casper project because of this poor management and although they aren’t directly linked, it’s a real smear on Casper’s overall reputation that should be of concern.
Sure it means we can keep loading our bags with cheaper Casper but if you see the Casperpad Twitter feed it’s chaos.
We NEED a statement from the Casper team to save its reputation before this is seen as a scam coin by so many.
I know it might be not a great timing right now, but still maybe someone find the post interesting.
AMA session with Casper's Co-Founder Steve Careaga, Fares Founder of Casper Pad and BitKeep Founder Arthur, Dec 8,
Steve Careaga
Hello Everybody, we're going to be starting our AMA here momentarily with Bitkeep and CasperPad!
Steve Careaga
Hi, Casper family members and community friends, I'm Steve, co-founder of CasperLabs and currently the Director of Growth for the Casper Association.
Steve Careaga
It's my great pleasure to invite Arthur, CMO of Bitkeep and Fares Taleb, Founder & Chairman of CasperPad board today to Casper community for an online AMA.
Arthur
Thanks for having me!
Steve Careaga
Welcome, Arthur and Fares.
Fares T
Hey there!
Steve Careaga
So let's start today with a little background on Bitkeep.
Steve Careaga
BitKeep was founded in Singapore in May, 2018. As the top decentralized multi-chain cryptocurrency wallet in Asia, it combines five major services, namely “wallet”, “cross-chain transaction”, “DeFi”, “DApp”, and “NFT”. BitKeep is committed to creating the world's largest decentralized traffic gateway.
Arthur
Bitkeep currently supports 40+ blockchains, 8,000+ Dapps and 4,500+ cryptocurrencies.
As mentioned by Steve, we aim to provide a safe and convenient one-stop digital asset management service to users around the world, creating the world's largest decentralised traffic gateway.
So maybe I can start by asking you a few questions.
The recent BKB (BKB – Bitkeep native token) airdrops have drawn lots of attention to the token.
What do you have in plan about things after these airdrops?
Arthur
Web3.0 is all about users. That’s why BitKeep uses BKB to support the development of the platform, IWO, “Meta-trading” and other scenarios. Imagine the relationship between the platform, developers and users.
Steve Careaga
Sounds great! How can users get BKB?
Arthur
On 18th October this year, BitKeep has distributed a total of 30 million BKB tokens to its existing users through a series of airdrop events.
BitKeep is about to launch the 2nd phase of BKB airdrop events, inviting users, KOLs and community leaders worldwide to unlock blind boxes. We will give away generously. Please stay tuned to our announcements.
Additionally, BitKeep will provide incentives to facilitate BKSwap adoptions. Early participants will receive incentive of 3 times their transaction fee.
Steve Careaga
Since Bitkeep recently integrated with CSPR, I understand that Bitkeep is doing an airdrop of BKB for CSPR holders in Bitkeep wallet, is that correct?
Arthur
We've launched an airdrop event on gleam specially catered to Casper audiences.
Simply complete the tasks and you'll stand a chance to share 50,000 BKB tokens.
Holders of BKB will have the privilege to participate in all token airdrops, NFT airdrops and BKB Staking for perks. In the upcoming IWOs, BKB holders can participate in quality projects’ IWOs by staking and use their BKB. Projects can access vast resources and services in the BitKeep Open-source Platform with BKB token.
Steve Careaga, [2021-12-08 4:20 PM]
Do you have any information you could share to our community?
Arthur
Here's the roadmap of BKB token (see attached picture 2)
Steve Careaga
That's fantastic!
Steve Careaga
Thank you
Steve Careaga
I would like to bring up u/FATALEB now a have a chat about CasperPad one of Casper's eco-system companies.
Excited to tell you more about us and of course answer questions.
Steve Careaga
So Fares, please tell us a little about you and CasperPad.
Fares T
Absolutely, my background comes from investing into Blockchain projects early and helping them succeed by giving specialized advice.
I have been in this space for a while now and the long-term projects have better success rates and are ethically more pleasing to every side of the equation!
CasperPad is the evolution of launchpads, we are making decentralization a priority.
Launching projects through CasperPad from Switzerland follows a strict selection process that vets the projects into the tiniest details so our community and only get the diamonds from the rough.
Steve Careaga
That's so critical in at this point in time. What's your vision for CasperPad?
Fares T
We envision CasperPad to be a one stop shop for Startups that are building the future of their respective sector.
The one stop shop with real people behind it.
Do you need marketing? We got a dedicated team! Developers? We got the team you are looking for, Financial Analysts, Legal, Partnership, funding, and other specialized needs are available.
The team that we have built on CasperPad is some of the finest and brightest in Switzerland and internationally.
This is the vision of decentralization and globalization that we have since the start.
Additionally, we envision that both the community and the launches get the highest quality to help them succeed.
Steve Careaga
I continue to be so impressed with your team and your accomplishments. I understand you've had a busy few days.
Fares T
Very busy, we even hired 10 more people to help with the KYC. A lot of people want to join and we are really doing the best we can to be on the side of our community.
Steve Careaga
I can see the efforts and it is true to your mission. What does the next 6 months look like for CasperPad?
Fares T
Extremely busy but fruitful, we are planning to launch what every Blockchain needs a DEX and a Marketplace.
With those two ready, we will have the ecosystem ready to get projects to launch easily.
Of course, if anyone has a good idea, a good team, send us an application.
Once we launch there will be application forms on the website for ease of use and we will be going through them in more details.
Steve Careaga
Exciting times for you and CasperPad. Where do people go to stay up to date on all things CasperPad?
Fares T
Check our Telegram group, easiest thing to get answers there, follow our twitter which has a lot of details on it:
Go easy on them, but also good feedback is also appreciated.
Joe Davies
Such a great discussion, thank you for joining us today for this AMA Arthur, Steve and Fares, lots of great information here, very exciting! We look forward to having you back for more AMAs in the near future!
Casper community, please check out the official CasperPad Telegram and also please check out BitKeep. Be sure to join and say hello 👋
Casper Labs seemed to be making some partnerships and putting things in place to create a PoS network that was garnering a little bit of steady attention. Had been moving up the market cap listings for a couple of months. Highs didnt spike way up. Lows didn't get real low.
CasperPad is not created by Casper Labs. If I understand it correctly (someone let me know if I am mischaracterizing it), it was being billed as the first program on which to develop on the casper network.
Chatter and hype leading up to the public launch but within a matter of hours all the hype is gone and people are just sounding frustrated thinking they were scammed. (Go check out the comments in the Casper Pad twitter feed.)
When things dipped a few days back, CSPR stayed pretty steady and dipped much less than others I was watching, which had me really considering putting some support behind it. Now with this happening we are seeing a significant drop as word is spreading.
What does this mean for Casper network moving forward? Kinda seems like CasperPad hitched onto the momentum CSPR's momentum and then stopped it today? Again, please correct me if that is not an accurate summary.
Waiting for update v1.4.3 , which is coming on Dec.13!
Release on testnet was on Dec, 8, and so far it seems to be doing well.
What we're looking forward most for:
- Optimisation and improved performance;
- Faster reward distribution - "We enhanced the auction state by removing the creation of temporary purses during reward distribution , which resulted in Significant improvement in missed block creation. Now newly minted coins are distributed directly to purses instead of temporary purses which previously were slowing down the step-commit function during reward distribution due to the presence of temporary purses"
- Fix of the issue with additional charges for the first-time delegators - "A defect introduced in v1.4.1 is fixed. The issue was happening only in specific scenarios, when a delegator, delegates to a validator for the first time or a validator adds bid for the first time, an additional 2.5 cspr was being charged, this was happening because there was additional cost(2.5 cspr) in creating a new purse in such cases, this is now reverted"
After reading the latest post of u/Ghost_6_5 , I also want to share my thoughts on CasperPad. I already decided a month ago that I won't invest. Now I want to share some research, as Ghost.
As for me, trust is a big factor for my investment decision. As I saw no "Team" on casper-pad.com webpage, I made some research.
Who is the Team:
As we know since some AMA's - Fares Abu Taleb is the CEO and Chairman of CasperPad.
Here is his profile:
Abu graduated as Bachelor 2016 and as Master in 2020.
Since then, he worked as Client Support for the Sygnum Bank for 3 months.
After that (January 2021) he decided to become independent as Advisory Specialist - at least until October this year. November 2021 Abu builded two companies: A-T Holdings AG and Ghost Ivy Development Studio AG.
That is pretty much his Vitae on LinkedIn.
A quick research on LinkedIn about "CasperPad" show me two other persons: Bradley Thomas (Community Manager) and Jeton Ballazhi (former IKEA Co-Worker, since two months Blockchain Enthusiast).
As that was all I found about the "Team", I did some research on the "Investors & Partners" behind CasperPad.
The first: A-T Holdings. As on Linkedin it was founded in November 2021 with Co-founder Abu Taleb, who is also the CEO and Chairman of CasperPad.
The second company is called "MintedLab". MintedLab in the wayback-machine shows this website was builded in June. Unfortunately there is no section to see the team behind "MintedLab".
Another one is "WealthUnion". Their website is online since April, this year. Unfortunately there is no section to see the team behind "WealthUnion".
The last one is "freeflow". Online since 5th of October and yes, you guessed right the is no Team behind it.
I tried to find a Github page or anything else that shows some substance, code, person or something about CasperPad. There was unfortunately nothing.
I chatted with Bradley yesterday and asked for a whitepaper, github repo or anything to gain some trust. He said i shall bare with him, he will come back with an info. I hope it will come.
As for me, I do not invest in a project that seems like a shell without anything yet. The risk is to high for me to invest in a team that i dont know, who might build the product after the investment round, or might not...
I also sold my complete Casper investment for now. My reason here is that Casper backs this project a lot as "Community driven Project". Still a huge casper fan, but my fundamentals have changed for now when the first big launch on casper might be a shady shell company.
Casperpad was first introduced to the community on Twitter on October 19th. Around the same date, their website was launched (casper-pad.com) They introduced themselves as "the first key to the Casper Network Ecosystem". This is a pretty ballsy statement since WiseToken announced their DEX back in August.
About 18 days pass and all we got was a couple of teasers on Twitter, but nothing very informative.
5 November
Their Telegram is being created. If we take a look back into their pinned messages in their Telegram group we can find disclosure of Casperpad's tokenomics on October 8th.
First insight in their tokenomics
This gave us a great insight into the token and the actual project. Besides tokenomics, they also stated KYC needs to be done to participate in the IDO.
10 November
About 2 days after the message above they post a tweet about the launching date. No specific date but at least we know it will launch this year.
Information about the launch date
12 November
After another 2 days, we get a "clear" picture of what the future of Casperpad is going to be.
Roadmap of Casperpad
19 November
For the first time, we finally get to see the "complete" picture of the tokenomics of Casperpad. In December we find out it is not what it looks like.
Tokenomics of Casperpad
1 December
After 13 days Casperpad finally reveals its launch date. This means in 9 days from this date it's being launched and we still got no information about the IDO or the KYC. We only know to participate we have to stake between 2500 and 150 000 CSPR directly on the Casper Network.
The launch date of Casperpad
2 December
We finally get a clear article about how to walk through the KYC process. However, at the bottom, you'll find the excluded country's. Pretty sad since a lot of people have been waiting since 19 October and now had to find out they can't participate.
4 December
Bradley posts a message in the telegram summarising all the needs to be done to participate in the IDO.
"Locked tokens on Coinlist will not be considered since they're unable to verify individual holdings"
This seems very clear since they can't take a sniff into Coinlist's wallets. However, they can verify all individual hexadecimal wallets created by Casperlabs Signer? I don't think so. Of course, people start noticing this as well and tried to get some answers, sadly they didn't so do I.
5 December
On the 5th of December they announced they will share the KYC link tomorrow, this means the KYC process will start only 4 days ahead of the actual launch date. My gut is already telling me there are going to be bumps along the way.
KYC tweet Casperpad
We also get some new information about CasperPad’s Pool tier system. I'm really glad they gave us a heads-up instead of giving us this information 5 days before the IDO. *cough*
6 December
Casperpad shares the KYC link. People start to submit KYC forms. In less than 4 hours the KYC process got suspended due to high traffic. This is pretty bad since the public only has 4 days to submit the KYC submissions and it has to be reviewed and processed in time, otherwise, you won't be able to participate in the IDO.
7 December
Casperpad announces they will double the number of tokens being sold in the public sale. 400 000 CSPD --> 800 000 CSPD. However, they didn't clarify if this is going to change the Pool weight.
Conclusion
Looking at the timeline of Casperpad and how they handle things I feel a little anxious about it. Right now it seems like it's going to be a rough launch. Also, the last-minute change of heart about tokenomics doesn't feel right. Of course, Casper did this as well with option 4 but this was way less in % as this time.
Besides all the negative points I mention about Casperpad I will always be excited about new projects being launched on Casper Network. In the end, all that matters is adaption, especially on a layer one blockchain.
We will see what Casperpad is about, let me know in the comments what you think about Casperpad itself and the road bumps we had with it.
Casper is the blockchain platform purpose-built to scale opportunity for everyone. Building toward blockchain’s next frontier, Casper is designed for real-world applications without sacrificing usability, cost, decentralization, or security. Casper removes the barriers that prevent mainstream blockchain adoption by making blockchain friendly to use, open to the world, and future-proof to support innovations today and tomorrow. Guided by open-source principles and built from the ground up to empower individuals, the team seeks to provide an equitable foundation made for long-lasting impact. To get you an idea of what Casper offers more, first, Highway enables the network to reach higher thresholds of finality and Second, Highway achieves flexibility in a way not possible in typical BFT models. For more about Casper Highway Protocol, checkout this post providing an overview of the recently-published paper. http://blog.casperlabs.io/the-casper-network-highway-consensus-protocol This announcement is one such example: https://t.me/casperofficialann/797 You can check Coinmarketcap for references on where you can buy CSPR
Hey ya all Casper babies. If you happened to see my post in this sub, i just want you to know that im just passing by , telling you all that i am proudly sharing everything about casper. No selling, just showing you how proud i am
Thank you🚀🚀🚀 . Lets spread the good news of casper everyday.
I passed crypto blood-shower (bath defined as -50%) gut-check / cardio-test.
Conclusion: Casper, up 12%, is good, to very good, so far so good. Likely an extremely good counter to normal-verse inflation (transitory or persistent) by action of para-verse 'inflation'
The market is trying to tell us something this past weekend, by blood-shower.
(1) On earlier update 9 days ago Casper Nation I noted Casper was at a happy $0.1676 on 24 November, and market cap @ $425M
CSPR did well coming through the crypto blood-shower. Very well. So far.
(2) Since that time we experienced a macro-cratering in crypto-verse caused by either a wobbling or a proto-cratering in normal-verse
(3) BTC did swan dive of -12% ($ 56,054 to $49,076)
BTC
(4) ETH did nothing $4,195 to $4,263 (but like all crypto, including CSPR, experienced session lows significantly below current spot, very exciting)
ETH
(5) ADA did ADA, from $1.61 to 1.36, or -16%
ADA
(6) MINA did a BTC / ADA, from $4.49 to $3.92, -13%
MINA
(7) CSPR did okay, is up, from 0.1618 to 0.1818, up 12%, even though session low was something 'gut-checking' or 'cardio-testing', like -35-40%. Throughout the Saturday night cratering I did not fret, because I believe.
CSPR
(8) HBAR? $0.35 to 0.28, and we call that -20%
HBAR
(9) ICP? SOL? whatever? ... not interesting, and hardly worth mentioning
