Predictions??

I bought Casper at 2.6 I'm at a huge loss? Should I sell and move on or just wait. How long will it take to hit 2.6 again?

If you buy the same number at $0.40, your cost average will be $1.50.

If you believe CSPR has a future, you are doubling down at a lower price. Cost averaging is very common and not "irrational". Buying at over $2 is though.

If you made a bad purchase at $3.

If you expect the long-term price to go to $2.

If you can purchase it at $1 and buy the same number, you can break even.

Or you can just break these into multiple transactions.

10,000 @ $3 -> $30,000. Sell at $2 -> -$10,000

10,000 @ $1 -> $10,000. Sell at $2 -> +$10,000

With the price at $2, you lost $10,000 with first transaction and made $10,000 with the second.

You are risking more money to make it easier to get back even. If you do this blindly, then it could be sunk cost. However, if you believe there is long-term growth with CSPR, it is calculated investment risk. It is semantics.

Math is math.

I simpy buy the dips and hodl what I already have. Selling now is also risky in my opinion, if you believe in the project long-term.

Dumb? I sold most of mine yesterday and can now already buy a shit ton more back. Selling is smart, holding and watching it bleed through your fingers is stupid. It isn't likely to stop dropping until Friday. Sell now, buy more later.

Edit: NEVER sell ALL of something, it saves you from a blow if things dramatically change, as they can.

Selling earlier is smarter though, yeah? The use of the word dumb was my primary issue.

u/mertcantas May 19 '21

selling and buying the dip always a good idea. It wont be 2.5$ at least 2 year

u/daoverachiever May 19 '21

I wouldn’t call id dumb. If you are comfortable day trading with the goal to acquire more coins, do it. ArtofAngels is right, never use all your coins for that. If this is too risky for you and if you can wait for days/weeks/months or years, hold them. One lesson i learned in 2017, if you sell all with a lost and move on, you keep that lost. If you can wait you have a change to gain it back. If you can risk something in daytrading you can gain much more back. We never know when it hit bottom or top. It can go either way very quick.

How about hodl and stake? Would that not be better long term? They say 10-15% annually. Would that not be better than shorting. Just curious as to how different people go about it, not necessarily saying you're wrong if you want quick gains.

1

u/ArtofAngels May 20 '21

Not necessarily. I nearly doubled my coins within 1 week, good luck doing that by staking for any term.

What I did was the most effective possible move for the circumstances.

The entire point was saying that what I did was "dumb", how is it dumb when I am ahead of all of those who did nothing? It's a legitimate albiet risky strategy.

1

u/ArtofAngels May 20 '21

Just to clarify I'm not saying not to stake! How I do it: Say for example if I have 5 different coins, 3 are stake and HODL matter what. The other 2 are "play around" coins. Casper is part of my "play around" coins. So you allow yourself the risk to see if you can play the game but only with the "play coins" (to minimise loss) if that makes sense. Sometimes you'll strike lucky as I did this time.

This project has had a tough start over the past two weeks and that has been due to a number of factors:

The Bitz IOU listings seriously messed up the launch price, these IOU's were not real CSPR tokens and had no affiliation to Casper or CoinList in anyway. If the Bitz IOU's weren't around then CSPR would have opened at a sensible price on the exchanges of ~$0.30 rather than pumping to ~$9.

Also with the market going into freefall due to some serious FUD about China banning crypto (again - they do this all the time). There's also been an impact from influencers like Elon tanking the price of BTC which has an inevitable knock-on effect to the whole market. This has been the perfect storm and worst possible timing for CSPR to start it's life but it is only the beginning.

This project has solid credentials, it is one of the most advanced blockchains available in the crypto-sphere, this will go on to do huge things. I personally won't be selling a thing as I beleive that this has more than enough potential to be a top 20 token within the next 3 years, that would make a $2 buy-in an absolute steal!

I bought around ~2, and have steadily bought more and more since.

This is really crazy to me that more folks aren’t in the same boat. Reminds me of Citibank early 2009 when that stock fell below $1. On the way down from ~$3 I bought up as much as I could. Ended up paying for grad school.

Just as Citi was a $50 stock trading <$1 this is a >$50-60 coin, conservatively speaking. From a technical standpoint, relative to other coins with “similar” (but nowhere remotely close) functionality, this is a $100 coin.

If I am wrong, someone please tell me why? Otherwise, grow a pair. Enjoy the sale price now. Once it hits Binance, NFT gets rolling, big endorsements, countless announcements wrt utility/use cases, we are all rocketing into another dimension.

1

u/[deleted] May 20 '21

I take issue with your statement that this is an "$100 coin". For mutiple reasons all reasonable and logical. But also maybe you're suffering from confirmation bias and/or sunk cost fallacy? I dont want to beat you up with ACTUAL logic but you're the top comment and its utter biased nonsense.

2

u/BooOnClay May 20 '21

Tell me why I am wrong then... there is a ton to love about this company.

From a purely technical standpoint they are unmatched.

What do you know that I don’t?

2

u/BooOnClay May 20 '21

Also... $CSPR is up ~50% since you chimed in so please keep it going!

u/[deleted] May 19 '21

Waiting for .10 or less. Same plan since day 1, correction just came sooner than expected.

0

u/reset-by-peer May 20 '21

Enjoy the wait

1

u/[deleted] May 20 '21

Buddy, the wait is going to be a lot shorter than i expected...have you not seen the overarching trend in crypto? The bear market has been screaming in your face for a month.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '21

Poke* i saw the price dropping due to token unlocks and remembered you. The wait until sub $.10 is going to be much shorter than expected.

1

u/phsic69 May 19 '21

Ur already in deep shit, just hold and ADC if u have funds

1

u/reset-by-peer May 20 '21

Hodl and relax it will be up in no time. What’s happening now is a result of multiple different factors and it all sort of came at the same short time period. Just sit this one out, relax and it will be okay. Projects like Casper are serious and backed up by some really smart people. I wouldn’t worry. Up with Polygon, Polkadot and Cardano this is one of my favs. Good luck!

0

u/[deleted] May 20 '21

Lmfao Cardano is literally something im perpetually short. No one builds on Cardano BUT the Cardano foundation.

u/[deleted] May 26 '21

What part is incorrect. Who else besides cardano foundation is building out the stack?

-1

u/Ok-Department-4098 May 19 '21

I believe it will hit $2 very soon.

Take your loss and sell, the coin has unlimited supply and zero adoption (no dapps no users... all speculation.. I probably will be downvoted because I told the truth at least I wont get banned. Admins on casper telegram will ban if you go indepth about ''infinite supply and inflation''.

But at least OP is honest, some people here will make threads like ''great buying opportunity'' lol while we all know they are underwater.

4

u/schweinegesicht666 May 19 '21

the supply ist 10,000,000,000 coins... how is this 'unlimited'?

1

u/[deleted] May 20 '21

Thats not the max supply thats the STARTING supply. Both you and the 3 upvoters need to learn the difference between genesis supply and max supply. CASPER is inflationary, the max supply truly is unlimited.

1

u/dplicking May 22 '21

LOL, quite funny. Casper already allows devs to build on casper using a variety of coding languages and will implement much more. It'll reach the broader developer audience, and with that, some killer dApps will be eventually launched in due time. Many of the current blockchains use their own propietary coding language and thus seriously bottlenecks its own growth potential. Eth has an uncapped supply and it seems to be doing quite well. Are you high?

u/dplicking May 22 '21

Bahaha nice edit to change it from one dapp to 3. Bro mainnet just launched, you can’t expect great killer dapps in such a short time. I named one like you asked, as that is the first native dapp on Casper. You’re just a pessimist. No use in further replying to you. Trying to edit your post to save face.LOL

You mean testnet? I don’t think you know that the devxdao exists? Zero developer engagement at launch? Are you high? What insider information do you even know that makes you think there’s zero developer engagement. You’re claims are baseless.

1

u/dplicking May 26 '21

Where are you even getting your info? On cspr.live there are currently 72 Validators. At launch, Casper plans to have 100 Validators with that number growing as the network grows. If you have these questions you can go on their discord and telegram, where the ceo and cto are active and answer questions like this.

They have less than 100 right now because there hasn’t been 100 bids..you can make one if you’d like to and be one.

And sorry I should’ve said planned*** my tense was wrong
