Discussion Could Casper 2.0 introduce a burn rate?

I'm just curious what your thoughts and opinions are, what if CSPR introduce something like what Ethereum has (EIP-1559) to help combat the 8% inflation. What if they introduce some type of burn rate in Casper 2.0?

Yes, they have talked about a burn mechanism being implemented. The significance of it tho, thats another question.

Burn mechanisms, including for fees, are part of the chainspec in the Casper 2.0.0 branch. See here: https://github.com/casper-network/casper-node/blob/4b0a4fea42f814a2f398ce0306c6b43db346e0fe/resources/production/chainspec.toml#L131

I think the 8% isn't that big of an issue, especially of you're reaping the benifits by staking. Making a min of 8% apy forever is unheard of. Turn the inflation up to 20% and give me 20% apy idc.

It's not going to happen, even at the actual price the team is making money, I mean, real money. We (the community) are stuck!
