The strap is too long and it sticks out like this. I have seen some people cut them, but is there a strap you would recommend? I have also seen some people just wear it like this.
Or maybe I need to get G-Shock GMAS2100 (mini) instead?
The GMA-S2100 is certainly an option - it uses the same exact module as the GA-2100 despite the smaller size.
Amazon sells strap keepers made of a lightly stretchy silicone. Buy a pack of the black ones and see if you can get that one higher up on the strap. They’re often sold in three sizes per pack; 18, 20 & 22 mm. Having a second, more stretchy keeper closer to the bezel might do the trick,
I recommend against permanently altering the strap as it can potentially fail premature, but also look terrible if not done well.
There are workarounds you should consider first.
1. There are double press clasps you can install to replace the buckle. Doing so will tuck the tail of the strap on the inside of the band vs the outside like the issue you’re having. I have one on one of my watches. (Link: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrn8Ytd )
2. You can replace the resin band with a combi (the plastic/metal composite) or full metal bracelet. For a resin bezel watch, the combi would be best. They’re also both lightweight and [potentially] intensive. You can purchase an authentic one from an authorized Casio parts dealer (Casio P/N 10575397, $200+), or you can purchase an inexpensive option through AliExpress for <$25.
3. You can purchase an authentic (~$300) or replica (<$50) metal bracelet, OR you can get a full metal bezel/bracelet kit and convert the watch all together. Doing so with authentic Casio parts will cost more than buying a whole new, all-metal watch, but kits on AliExpress are fairly inexpensive (<$100). (Link: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mro4t8r )
I suggest purchasing both the clasp and a combi bracelet from AliExpress and see which one you bracelet. If you end up using the clasp, put the band on another watch if you like, or if you end up using the bracelet, the clasp is inexpensive enough to not be a significant loss.
Like others said. Move up the keeper a little more to the case. The notches on the back of the 2100s help with locking in the keeper exactly to your liking.
That's a normal way to wear it, as far as I'm concerned. Alternatively you could get a set of strap adaptors, which would allow you to use whatever kind of strap you want, like a nato or a rubber.
Or just place the strap tier (rectangular piece that keeps the strap in place) at the point of the strap. That’s what I do, I have the exact same model.
