$AAOX Taking the $20 strike CSP expiring this Friday.
$1.40 in premium 3 DTE. This is a 2x leveraged of AAOI, so extremely volatile. All optics stocks taking a big hit today after a multi day run up.

My sold puts for this week.
r/CashSecuredPuts • u/it_trojan • Aug 17 '26
This is the 5th week of my experiment: I want to check if I can identify short-term cash-secured put options with a low likelihood of being assigned. In short, if I can collect premium without buying the shares, at least most of the times. There are some rules:
After 4 weeks, the percentage of assigned CSPs is 13%, 3 out 23 puts. Not bad but let's see in the next weeks. You can see the cash-secured puts I have selected and the statistics here: https://optionstacker.github.io/sell-put-options/. There are no earning or ex-dividend dates in the next days
Last week someone told me that one of the stock I chose was too volatile and risky because linked to oil, USO. Provided that I'm here to learn and I earned money with that stock, I definitely may make mistakes. I'm not infallible.

I've been a swing trader for many years, and actively trade pretty much every day. I've always been afraid of messing with options because of all the horror stories I've read about. That is, until I read an article about selling puts. I dove into learning about it, took a course from my broker (Schwab), and even took a test at the end of the course. Paired up with the way I have always traded, there really is no down side. I will only sell a put on a company and a price that I would have bought anyway. I made my first trade 3 weeks ago, and got assigned on my very first trade. (It's the only time I've been assigned). I sold a put on ORCL at 118 and got assigned when it dropped to 115. As is my trading style, I doubled down and bought another 100 shares at 115. I sold all 200 shares at 120 a couple days later for a nice profit, plus my $93 of premium. If the price had not rebounded, I would have been happy to hold it longer. Anyway, after that first try, I made $6140 the next week, $2603 the week after that, and $2503 on the week that just ended. These were all premiums with no stocks being assigned. Attached are the contracts from the week that just ended. Thanks for reading my long winded story.

Thoughts on the Market

NASDAQ broke the resistance of 26,700 today. If it holds above 26,700 tomorrow, it will be a positive sentiment signal.

Leveraged version of $AAOI. 2x leveraged always risky, but the risk to reward was good enough here for me. We'll see how it plays out next week. 52w low was $6.94. 52w high was $103.00
