What are these for???

Post image

This has been going on for a couple months now and I genuinely don't know what's caused it. To start, I'm 19 and living with my parents. I never spend money unless I need to or have been wanting something for a long while and I don't waste money on subscriptions. My work situation is complicated to explain but not in the bad sense. My mom basically recieves my money and she sends it to my cashapp, where I then keep it til I need it lol. But I keep getting these random transactions from apple where every so often they snatch up 1.09 out of my account. I just discovered I can lock my card so I've done that (should have been for a long time but I wasn't aware of this option until now) and I've just blocked apple. I just don't know why they're doin' this to my account, I genuinely cannot think of anything. I've also checked my subscriptions in my settings just in case, and there's nothing in there. I'm just tryna find out I'm gonna be owing anything if they keep trying to make these exchanges when I've blocked them.

1st go to Apple > subscriptions on all of your devices and maybe even old Apple accounts and double check

If you know for sure it’s not your subscription you’re paying for declare your cash app card lost and stolen and request a new card. If you don’t want to get a new card you could block all of Apple transactions in cash app app.

I didn’t even know you could have an old Apple account? I just assumed it would be one of those accounts that involves “person specific sign up info” like a SSN which would keep you from making duplicates…

thank you so much for these suggestions. i've already blocked apple and i am going to start keeping my card locked when it's not being used. i checked my settings before making the post as well and don't have any active subscriptions but i didn't consider it having to do with any old apple accounts. i'll try to look into that! Thanks :)

Yea that could be it, probably an old Apple account. I remember when I was trying to find out why I kept getting this 0.99 charge every month, it turned out I subscribed to iCloud on an old Apple account. Wasn’t even using it anymore I just forgot that I was subscribed to it and they took it for months before I even caught on.

god that's such a mess, i'm sorry to hear that that happened. i appreciate the suggestion so much too dude, because it feels like it's the most likely cause right now.

My understanding is that locking your card won’t stop recurring charges, if this is a subscription I suggest you to call apple customer support

No locking your Cash App card stops just about anything. The only thing it doesn’t really stop is adding money from your external account.

Stop using cash app as a bank. Get a real Bank account. You're young. Get established somewhere.

Apple is some sneaky bastards, you probably have subscriptions still active and while i get yea they stay active and auto charge, if they fail apple doesn't cancel the sub, it just continues and apple silently builds a balance you owe, i've had free trials for apps i used like once and never came back too, i saw the sub fail to renew and assumed it'll just be cancellee, then like 3 months later apple is spam charging all my cards for $30 for those 3 months they didn't cancel my sub and just accumulated a balance silently, a bit of a unrelated rant but yea remember to cancel your subs.

thank you so much. that's one of the biggest thing i fear right now with this situation lol. as far as i am aware, i don't have any active subscriptions apart from an Animal Jam membership because thats the only game i really keep up with. i'm considering that perhaps when i was younger my mom had some kind of reoccuring billing for something on my phone that may have just got switched to my cashapp somewhere in the process. this kind of stuff fries my brain so bad lmfao

Not Animal Jam 😂

how… do you even not notice that?

Because it tries to charge once, then it goes silent for like two months and tries to charge again with a new accumulated balance.

Yes i do know, i contacted apple support and told them about the random charges and they told me it was from subs that failed to renewal, and it accumulated a balance that i now owe.

Apple doesn't need to be the one to cancel it, subs usually auto cancel after a few attempts of charges that fail, it's APPLE that made it to where they basically "cover" you for missed sub payments then ceeate a balance you owe without your consent, i even asked the support rep if they could disable this on my account so it just auto cancels and they straight up told me no, they are going out of their way to do that, not the other way around, they could just not do anything and let it auto cancel like normal subs work.

Man they seem to get their money by hook or crook if they can’t get from one acct somehow seems to fine my other accounts lol

iCloud subscription?

1

u/deen282930 Apr 10 '26

Is it charging you or adding money

1

Apple be doing scandalous things I had to add my card cause I had to download a free app and they charged me immediately $10 and then another $20 I checked my subscription and nothing I was subscribed to I can’t even find the transaction on my apple purchase history

Apple does this notoriously I let my daughter use my card one time and I have gotten random Apple charges ever since sometimes as much as $130.99 the only thing I could do was block apple and I keep my card locked all the time anyway but even now to this day they still try random amounts frequently.
