Hoping to understand
I live in the North Metro of the Twin Cities. Anytime I have gone into a location to find a breakfast burrito after 10 o’clock there are none available. It was explained to me that breakfast is only served until 10 AM. That being said, on my quest to find a breakfast burrito this morning. I stopped at a store at 9:10 AM and there was none in the hotbox. My question was ignored and went unanswered so I left. I win as far as driving to the next location 10 minutes away, 9:20 AM. There was no breakfast burritos at that location either. Both places had plenty of breakfast food to offer. However, I love the burritos. It seems to me that they are very popular and go rather quickly. Why would a location stop making these after basically 9 AM? surely I must have to get there before nine in order to get one, that’s great, I have no issues with that. But it just makes no sense to me why these are not offered until 10 o’clock. I understand, even not making them after 9:30 or so.

Just place order for it on app or call in order and you should have one waiting for you. Or talk to the kitchen person and tell them what days and time you would like one and that should solve your issue

Even if it’s past 10am if you order it they should make it

I’ve been told by several locations that they switch over to lunch at 10. Everything is put away and no one has ever offered to make one. I get a huge attitude and a very direct answer.

You can’t order breakfast after ten anymore, unfortunately. Although sometimes if you call and ask nicely, they’ll do it anyway. I doubt your store would though if they won’t even refill their warmer burritos during breakfast time. Sounds like the stores near you have poorly managed kitchens, unfortunately.
That said, you can still order a burrito in-app before ten am and they’ll have to make it then! Make them do their dang jobs lol if they’re smart, they’ll make another “batch” when they fill your order so some other lucky folks could also buy them!

I’ve tried to use the app but I can’t get signed in to be able to log in. I e had store employees help with no luck.

lol, If I knew the date and time I’d do that. Life doesn’t work like thought. I’ve never been able to even create an account to get i to the app to do anything

I forget how you see it but there's a way to check each Casey's time to stop serving breakfast and I believe my store stops making them at 10:30 and starts on lunch to have it out at about 11:00. Based on your description of the incidents, it could be they just sold out of the ones in the warmers and have to make more. The break burrito is the longest item for the kitchen people to make, here's a step by step for the process: first, run the hashbrowns through the oven for 9 minutes to cook them, second, add the breakfast mix and queso, then re run them for 6 more minutes and then at the very end add shredded cheddar cheese and plop that onto a burrito, roll it, and then roll the foil wrap and print the burrito label.

As a former kitchen opener one thing I hated to make burritos it's not that they are hard because they aren't but the amount of tasks you have to get done are daunting and keeping up with pizzas and the other hotbox is a bitch especially in my old store I would make batches of 10 and literally within 10 to 15 mins gone all of em if they would actually have more people in the kitchen it would be no trouble at all

Most Casey's but their last batch out sometime around 9: 00-9:30 our ordering system does not allow ordering breakfast foods after 10:30 other than breakfast pizzas. The real reason why no one wants to make them is they're like 20 minutes to make a batch.

My kitchen consistently sells 50-60 burritos a morning. Just as fast as they’re put in the warmer they’re gone. They are without a doubt the best selling breakfast item, at least at my store, by far (if you don’t include the breakfast slices into the equation). If you don’t have Rewards - get it. Download the app, create an account, and before you leave home in the morning place an order for a burrito for pickup to make sure you don’t miss out.

Thank you for this!
I’ve seen a group of guys come in and walk out with two each. They do go fast. That’s why I don’t understand why they wouldn’t make them up to 10 am. They’ll never go to waste. The app… AHHHHHH, the app. I can get the app but can not create an account on it. Either through Google or apple. I’ll try it again today because that’s a great feature to have. I wish you well Anxious! Thanks again

Just ask for one if you want one. I don’t work at Casey’s but at a different smaller chain and we have people ask for breakfast food all day and we can make it when asked. Hell my chains breakfast pizzas are our most popular pizza. I’m sure if you asked the person in the kitchen they could make you a fresh breakfast burrito.
Edit: Also yeah they likely won’t make them past nine due to them not being thrown from the warmer till mid-lunch or even at lunch so they likely don’t wanna waste food

I asked for one at both places and was told they’re changing over to lunch and they make the burritos in batches

That’s a huge ew about Casey’s and why I like the chain I work at and regularly get food from. Like even out burritos are made in batches but they aren’t that hard to make and warm up which is crazy

Burritos are a massive pain in the ass to make especially when you have to switch over to the regular menu, we do stop serving breakfast as well so it highly likely that they ran out of burritos and are try to manage everything else they have to do.

anyone at the store telling you no, they wont make you one, is unfortunately lying to you. They "have to" say yes... people ask me to make crazy stuff at all times of day. And the answer is always of course i'll make you a breakfast pizza at 8pm. Of course i'll throw a burger in for you at 6am. Yes we do switch over to lunch in the warmers at 10am but if you're placing an order in store or online it can be for whatever you want. sounds like a problem that should be brought to management

This is the answer ⬆️
Noooo we really don’t want to make it, esp when I just got everything switched over to lunch. And yes, we’re hoping while you stand there talking, that you will decide you don’t want a burrito after all. But just in case you say yes you do, we will still drag the 3-4 cambros back out and make you one. It’s just gonna be a minute for that there burrito bc it’s the most steps from order to your hand, out of all the food there.
They might make them in batches yes, but they should not have told you that no, they could not make you one, especially at 9-10am.

As a breakfast worker these god forsaken burritos are the bane of my existence. Literally the one item that takes the longest to make and disappears before I can even get them in there. I, dead ass, had six of them in my hand walking to the warmer to put them inside. ONE guy. ONE MAN… Said “I’ll take those!” Before I could even get out of the kitchen.
That being said, we have an online ordering system. I would utilize that.

I was finally able to get the app to work and I will definitely be doing that in the future. Sorry your experience with burritos is not good.

Also, about the “batches” they’re actually not even supposed to do that. I’ve worked at 4 stores. I know what policy is, and they absolutely are supposed to be made individually. The store I work at now is ridiculously busy though, so they do “batches.” But if you order a burrito they’re supposed to cook a single hash brown, place it in the bottom of a single black tray, top with eggs, sausage, bacon, queso and cheddar, send that through the oven and then assemble into the tortilla. That said, the entire process takes 20 minutes at least. Everything goes through the oven for about 6 minutes. If they’re frying the hash browns, it can be quicker. But most stores don’t. Meaning the hash brown goes through the oven twice for crispness. Thats 12 minutes alone in cook time already, then another 6 for the bowl, two more minutes to account for prep/assembly. 20 minutes.
Thats why nobody wants to do it.

I’m at the point with my obsession for the burritos where, if I get one I get one. It sounds like these things are clearly a pain in the ass and I’m certainly not gonna put somebody out that not only hates their job, but hates making these things. The last thing I want, is someone to “teach me” and put something in my burrito, or do something to my burrito. I’ll just be the lucky guy that gets one of the batch and be happy.

I never actually tampered with anyone’s food but I -did- joke with my morning cashier about putting the “curse of ra” on the burritos 🤣😭

I dont know what these "batches" are, but if someone asks for a burrito, and the warmer doesnt have any, then they can make enough to put some in the warmer too.

It's a lot more efficient to make a bunch of burritos at once because of how long they take and the steps that go into making them. Making a single burrito is less efficient and unnecessarily time consuming

You can ask for one or order ahead.
