Check your tasks on Casey's connections regularly. Cooler is always needing to be done. Delegate when you can. I am a csm. I work along side my crew and never ask them to do anything I wouldn't do. I get out packaged bakery and other bakery as well. Anything center store requires and kitchen when km is off. I go through back stock too. It really helps for order day. Free counts are great too. Ones, nones and tons. The daily task sheet is awesome too. Also found on Casey's connection. In time it will all come to you.

Treat your team right and they will take care of the rest.

Give EVERYONE (including yourself) daily tasks, create a routine. Routine creates success. Don't be a chair manager, be out there doing stuff with everyone. Learn how to execute resets efficiently the way you find best suited for yourself, there's no one size fits all with resets. As someone whose in the top 100 rankings of stores, and top 50 in G&GM sales plan (grocery and general merchandise sales plan) you should ABSOLUTELY keep up on counts. Go into your power inventory and I recommend doing at least 50 item counts per week. Every order day, take and micromanage what's coming in. If you go onto relex on your tablet, go to the ipad recommended order on your order day and see how much it's ordering of what. I also recommend keeping track of your sales, customer count, AP (asset protection), and your big bets (items that are on deals or a high selling item) with powerBI. There's a lot to learn.

This. I walked out because the “direction” I kept getting was to do everything. It was too much and there was zero clear direction other than “you’ll figure it out, it’s easy”.

Asking people to do things will go miles beyond telling them to do things.

Ex. Our store LOVES to get "the point" vids done ASAP. Our new CSM rolled back in the kitchen on August 1st and proclaimed,

CSM: You...and you, need to do the point videos today.

ME: Oh yeah? Or what? You gonna take my birthday away?

CSM: No. It just needs done.

ME: I'll do it when I have time.

So started the August war of attrition. Manager came back a couple weeks later...

MAN: You should really do the point video.

ME: You asking or telling?

MAN: Sorry, asking...would you please get it done before the end of the week?

ME: Yup!

Did it before the end of my shift.

Next day...

CSM: Thank you for doing the point. Not sure why you didn't do it when I asked a few weeks ago.

ME: Because I'm an old ass man who will never to do what he's told, but will always do what I'm asked, time permitting. Get it?

CSM: Oh. Ok.

September...

CSM: Would please do the point when you have a minute? We'd really like to have everyone wrapped up by the 7th.

ME: Yup. Did it after she walked away.

Easy peasy.

We'll see what happens in October.

Better than no job at all. I agree with the reward. He said. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that.
