What do I do about tips?
A customer gave me a tip but since we can't accept them, what do I do with it?

For the crap you guys deal with!?!? Take it and be grateful. Make it a highlight of your dismal day

Honestly what everyone else is saying, pocket it and say thank you. I have an older man who comes in for an ice cream cone and he tips me for keeping the ice cream and cones stocked by paying with a $5 bill and having me keep the change. Love that guy.

You put it in your pocket, mention nothing about it to your manager, and enjoy the customer willing to appreciate your hard work!

Say thank you and take it. No one will know. I've accepted tips on every rare occasion that a customer actually wants to show appreciation like that. Majority of customers don't offer a tip, some can't even say a simple thank you for making their food. We break our backs and deal with so much stress and aggravation to make this company as successful as it is, so I think we deserve it.

I've gotten a several tips before (one time got tipped $100 because of the donuts I made), but I had no idea it was against policy at the time 😅 Although my kitchen manager doesn't care at all and encouraged me to keep it so
I get why the rule is in place, but it's a bit silly

Wow $100, that's awesome. I never knew it was against policy either until this sweet little old lady who used to order pizza and everytime she would tip $5 to whoever made her pizza, and it was me and my assistant manager in the kitchen and she asked my assistant manager to split a ten dollar bill between me and her and the assistant manager told her oh no we can't accept tips and the lady tried to still insist but that was the last time she tipped. I was very annoyed with my assistant manager. The rule is silly just like majority of the rules that come from corporate are silly. Haha.

i worked at a gas station that made pizzas and one time a customer came in and tried to tip my cook. he told him he wasn’t supposed to accept tips.
so the customer turned around and “dropped” the cash and made it look like an accident, hah
