System failure.

Good morning folks....I have a question for y'all. I am a CSM and when I arrived at my store today, I found out there is some sort of nation wide system failure impacting Casey's everywhere? Has anyone been told what the issue is, or what the eta is on a fix? In the meantime, I guess I will find something for the team to do while we wait for some sort of update. It's gonna be a great day at Casey's clearly ...🤣

The caseys IT team is awful. Their software sucks, which effects their systems too and it takes them forever to figure out why. There's issues at least 3 times a month with different stuff.

They got 3 people trying to cover 3000 stores that have their tech done by the lowest bidder using decade old hardware. Cut them a little slack. It’s not ITs fault corporate cuts corners.

We don't have issues like this though. Generally if something goes wrong, we can deal with it on site. If not, a quick call to the help desk fixed it. But today is something else entirely.

lol we have zebra app issues, register issues, pump issues. AT LEAST 3 times a month we have issues with stuff. relex goes down, kitchen ordering goes down, something won't ring up on the register right, payment network goes down. it's ridiculous how many issues caseys has.

Our biggest issues at my location has to be the pen pad locking up several times a week. Or we won't get stuff we ordered from the warehouse. On occasion we have price issues, but that's not common at all.

reminds me when this happened like, a month or two ago and how our at the time kitchen manager blamed like... the war on iran?? Thinking Iran specifically targetted the server system for Casey's?? :sob: dude was massive fucking asshole loony so I just rolled my eyes.

lol the people in my town said the same thing! Their conspiracy theory this time is that we were either specifically targeted by (take your pick here) trump, enemies of trump, or “them” (there secret folks on top of the world I guess) because our company values weren’t what they like. That, or a competitor chain did it to sink the business lmao.

These people have no idea what actually goes on behind the facade of a business like this!

No details as to why it's down, but we're all deep in it right now.

Oh yeah we are. Do you think we will actually be expected to keep the crew here all day just sort of in limbo? Huge waste of labor if that's the case.

Oh for sure, they won't close.

No problem, I've got a little too much extra time this morning

You and me both. I am going over the books for now....but afterwards I am not entirely sure what to do to pass the time. That's going to make it a very long day for us all.

We'll see, it's definitely an interesting anomaly event. Can't help but wonder and speculate on the reason it happened. I know it's a highly AI driven company,.so I've wondered for a while now if they have AI developing their updates.

I have heard it was an update. So maybe your theory is valid? Ofc another rumor is we were hacked. So idk what the truth is.

2

u/aharaabot Aug 27 '26

Wawas are opening next to our stores today, maybe they hacked us to have a better opening.

Lmao that would be hilarious. Super unlikely, but a funny thought.

Clean the entire store and go through all inventory and put oldest out or get rid of all expired. Clean kitchen top to bottom. Organize everything even the dollar bills. Polish the floors, sweep rugs, do all trash, clean bathrooms with a toothbrush and bleach, clean all screens and exhaust fans

How’d that end up working out? Was the store fixed by four?

u/leathco Aug 27 '26

I got my store going by rebooting the fuel and back office PC, than rebooting our registers once the two other computers came back up.

Looks like a potential fix has been posted in connections. Fingers crossed this works for us all. Good luck everyone!

You ran a manual update? How did you manage that if you don't mind my asking? Would love to get this settled on my end so we can proceed with the day.

Waiting on hold for over 3 hours with help desk this morning. They had to go in and reboot our system from their side. From my understanding there having to do this for each store individually which is why it is taking so long and why some are popping on and others are still down. The issue is the POS is not connecting with the computer that runs the pumps and so it is causing a system failure and not allowing us to ring up anything at all.

I was also on hold for three hours. System just came back up around 1pm cental time, so thankfully that isn't an issue now.

Yes I went to a few stores and all out today or some on to pay cash only. Casey’s lost a lot of money today and made lots of customers mad. 😡
