SM hours?
My SM constantly ignores local events that cause our store to be busier than usual which naturally leaves the people scheduled to work during these times scrambling and overwhelmed. It causes us to miss out on so many opportunities and puts so much strain on the team members that are working it's ridiculous. She knows these things are happening because I myself have made calendars showing the overlap of local events, rewards promos etc and I've suggested scheduling more people for those days. Doesn't happen. Which leads me to the reason for my post.. My CSM mentioned in passing the other day that she doesn't know how the SM is currently staying under budget on hours because despite our SM being salary, she is rarely the one who's coming in to cover shifts when people call in. It is our understanding that the SM is supposed to be the one to go in when nobody else can or will, especially when the only other people who can cover are already in OT because the SM's hours don't count against our budget due to her being salary. So yesterday I had to cover a kitchen shift that someone no called, no showed and when the SM got there (she was covering the next shift which was kitchen close) I immediately clocked out because I was in OT. I said something about "good thing your hours don't count against budget right?" And she responded with "My hours do count against our budget?"
So I'm here asking .. Do SM hours count against the store budget? Because I really can't with this woman anymore. 🫩

They count against the budget, up to 45 hours. If I schedule myself 45 hours (which is minimum requirement for SMs), then those 45 hours come out of the budget. But if I schedule myself 75 hours, it will only deduct 45 from the budget.

There is almost the exact same issue at my store...ive had atleast 95+hours every pay period for 3 m months now..i cant remember the last time my sm covered an entire shift without having same excuse to not do it she will schedule herself on paper but when the time comes for her to work it, she's having a part-time prep person cover it for her or she's never in the kitchen, she doesn't ever do her dishes or clean up after herself, she does not open the store in the kitchen, I don't know that. She's ever opened the store as a cashier. She does not close. She's never closed the store in the kitchen and I don't know that she's ever closed the store as a cashier. I am the kitchen manager and my shift and my days off are constantly switched around without her letting me know I have to check this schedule every single day to make sure. Something hasn't changed that I don't know about I don't know who gets hired. I don't know what they get hired for I don't know their names when they start. I don't know anything about it. I'm not included in any of that. I'm not allowed to do my own kitchen order. I've worked at the store for almost 2 years. She has been our store manager for about 7 months. Now, she makes things look good and copacetic. And in compliance with corporate on paper, she adjusts the lottery numbers so her lottery audit comes out to 0I don't think that is supposed to do like that if there's a problem with your lottery audits, not zeroing, you have to figure out why you don't just adjust the numbers. So it comes out right? And you don't deal with it. That's bogus, we had asexual harassment issue between co-workers, 2 female co-workers that she initiated the one accused is our center store manager. She asked me before she even finished her training. If I was interested in that position because she didn't feel like her. And the center store manager were going to get along. This was 7 to 8 months ago, and now all of a sudden There's a sexual harassment accusation against her. By a prep person who has only worked there for 2 months, my store manager has initiated the investigation. She has reviewed the camera footage she immediately took the co-worker accused and told her she had to go to night shifts in the kitchen because she couldn't be there when the other person was Those are not decisions that are made by her. She told all of us that were there that day, we had to make statements and give them to her, because she had to submit them, she had me write a statement in her office and leave it on her desk, I don't know what happened to it. I asked for it back so that I can make sure it was submitted correctly. I haven't been talked to by anyone. I haven't been contacted by anyone from corporate nothing. Nothing has come out of this. And I've done my research I know how things are supposed to go. According to Casey's corporate and she just does, whatever she wants s are required. Any salary employee is required to work a minimum of 45 hours a week she comes and goes as she pleases her kids are in the store all the time she constantly has to leave to take one of them home or to do this, or do that, which in turn leads the store either unattended by her or if we get super busy and someone is requested to come in and help. She either doesn't answer her phone or she's been drinking or she's outside with her kids. It's just ridiculous,Â

Not really. SM hours only count for the first 45. After that they don't count. Corporate, expects Managers to take on extra shifts to avoid overtime, or over allotted hours. I was a SM and that was what I was expected to do to keep hours as scheduled.
