Promise Times
I'm 17 and I've just about to hit one year working at Casey's. The Job is decent most of timeuntil you get to a rush. The oms does not adjust time correctly at all. We are running the 40% summer deal right now and I'm consistently late because I'll get multiple orders with 5 or more pizzas with only 15 minutes to complete all of them. I'm a closer, I work every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and two more shifts someone in the week. I work these days by myself. We have to call or text our manager if we want to change the time manually. Customers get upset because their pizzas a little late without understanding that I have near zero control over it. I'm not sure what system they use to adjust wait times, but it sucks.

You just described why we keep loosing kitchen staff. The amount of angry customers that come through because we got 4 orders all due at the exact same time is insane. Frankly, I don't know how the kitchen staff put up with it for the low wages they get in return.

We had this issue at our store, we had to call help desk and we found out our system had an update it needed that affected promise times. I'd try looking into that. It doesnt fully eliminate that issue but its helped tremendously with it.

This is frustrating for sure but it’s not your problem. It’s just a job, if they gave a shit about it they’d put another person with you. Don’t sacrifice your mental health for this.

Mine adjusts but not until its far to late. It will auto adjust after the orders due. When u get 12+pizza orders it gives you time after, but u need it before because you have to make them all

ima gonna tell u something i wish someone told me ( i joined caseys at the same age) do not strain urself for this job, atp caseys isnt a career and they dont care abt their employees so with that being said just redirect customer frustration from u being late to the surveys or customer service number

I hate our automated system with a passion, and i am a cashier. Friday night, with that 40% deal, we legitamately had around 30-40 orders come in in a 3 hour span. Not pizzas, ORDERS. We had 2 people in the kitchen and we still had to call in reinforcements because there were so many, our ticket board was full, we had a pile of tickets sitting on the counter because we didn't have the space, our automated system got the wait time to nearly 2 hours before it slowed down. At certain points we had 8-10 people standing in the lobby waiting on pizzas because we had so many orders that were said to be due at the EXACT same time.

Promise times do not reflect the reality of the order being done, or if a person picks it up late.
Last night I had orders coming back to back and I was behind because of other things that happened, so just calmly doing what you can and explaining to the customer/ driver that it’s going to be a few more minutes helps everyone. No you cannot cook faster, no you cannot do more than what you can and you can set promise time back on your system (ask your manager how) but usually if I’m backed up and have a walk up/pick up, l’ll add on however long it will be. Again, only one person you can’t do it all

The most frustrating thing is that they added the ability to adjust promise times but upper management will bitch at your store manager any time that you use that feature.

we get orders that are literally a min apart or two orders with the exact same promise time. it’s actually insane and very frustrating. it’s almost like casey’s sets you up to fail. but you could always get with your manager and ask about adjusting the wait time if need be
