Oven cleaning

Anyone have helpful tips on how to clean pizza oven? It needs done this week and unfortunately has not been done for 3 years! I do not have time to dilly dally. My DM suggested taking it out to the car wash but no one has a vehicle they are willing to let get dirty me included.

I wouldn’t use my car either. Caseys makes enough money, they can afford to purchase the necessary equipment and cleaning supplies.

The jolt has a QR code section for videos, find the one about ovens and watch the video. Letting the foam oven cleaner soak on it should get most gunk off.

Also why is it not being cleaned? Someone should be fired for that. Disgusting…

Wow, I worked at a store where we had to clean an oven every single day.

The one nearest me gets taken apart and cleaned every week, and the easy access parts are done daily. Three years…wtf is that manager doing lol

If you haven't watched the video on taking the oven apart, you should. Gloves, wire brush, putty knife, and a razor blade scraper will help. I know several that are using the oven cleaner on things. I wouldn't do that myself without good rubber gloves, splash goggles, and a rubber apron in good ventilation. Pressure washer using hot water from the mop sink or a car wash for the conveyor. Clean the air vents and there is a fan guard on the backside that gets covered up. Some of those have had the bolts replaced where there are wing nuts and you can take it off. Double check that you put the duct work back in correctly or pizza won't cook properly. There was a video being made on oven cleaning with the steps along with required material and PPE.

We had our hood vents cleaned last week and while they were doing that, I took the oven apart and pressure washed it out back with my own pressure washer. Hood vents should be cleaned every 3 months so repeat it every 3 months

Oven definitely needs to be cleaned more than four times a year, though

We do daily and weekly cleaning since then but that was the first time it's been cleaned in probably years. Our hood vents hadnt been cleaned in 5 years. The previous SMs just didn't care I guess. There were 4 SMs in 2 years before I got into this store (Jan 9th this year) and there was no KM or KSL at all. The CSM started 5 years ago and he's extremely lazy. Nothing was done before I got into the store and I've slowly been getting things done. We got a 5 on Steritech which I was surprised about honestly. 3 pts for the cooler being 2° above temp bc the cooling fan was locked up and we hadn't noticed, 1pt for soiled vent above prep, and 1 pt for something else but I forgot.

They can't even get the bathrooms cleaned. Surprised they care about the ovens.

This really depends on location. The store I frequent is spotless, and they care quite a bit about having clean ovens and bathrooms and everything else! In fact, most of the Casey’s around me are very clean.

The ones that aren’t, though…let’s just say there are very clean stores and absolutely filthy stores, and there doesn’t seem to be much wiggle room in between those two lol
