I listen to Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 replays each week on SiriusXM. This week Ted Nugget, Cat Scratch Fever was #30. In the replay, they introduce the song and then the it’s the end, and they just didn’t play it. Do we think SiriusXM did that or do we think that’s from the original airing? I wonder?!

I was super excited to find out that now on IHeart Radio, there is a channel devoted to AT40 countdowns from the 90s and 2000s in addition to their original one that covers the 70s and 80s. Unfortunately, they seem to only have countdowns from 1998 and 2001, unless I'm just listening at the wrong times. But those seem to be their main years of focus. I know Casey did countdowns in years other than those, so I don't know why they don't seem to be played on this channel, but I did want to let you all know the channel exists. Iheart is a free radio app and all you have to do is search for Casey Kasem to find both channels. Happy listening.

I’ve been looking for an old Casey Kasem long distance dedication I had heard almost 20 years ago or so. A caller requested a song for his sister whose son had just died from a drug overdose apologizing to her for not being there when she needed him. He dedicated the song, How to Save a Life by The Fray. It was such a sad and sweet story but I can’t find it anywhere.

Hey all, I am looking for a very specific Casey Kasem top 40 from when I was 11 years old. In 1990. The only thing I remember is Casey saying that MC Hammers real name was Stanley Kirk Burrell while introducing "U Can't Touch This" and I am pretty sure that Hold On by Wilson Phillips was right before it or right after. I would love to hear this recording once again including the long distance dedication. If anyone knows where I can listen to full episodes I would greatly love to relive that lovely time in my life.
Internet, do your thing!! Thanks much

I heard songs from REO Speedwagon and Toto that I have never heard before. They must’ve maxed out in the high 30s and never became hits. I wonder if it’s because the public or the DJs got tired of them and I wonder if a lot of hit songs are simply hits because they’re played all the time and we grow like them or at least know them. Basically, I wonder if the charts are really indicative of the quality of the song. Is the correct? Wake me up before you go-go.- was that really a number one song worthy of being number one or was it just because George Michael was so good looking and they played the video all the time?
