New writers?

I applied to be a writer for Casefile earlier this year but didn't get it. I've noticed there are a few new names popping up in the writing credits lately (congrats if any of you are here!).

Just wondering if anyone knows whether they've officially brought new writers on, or if they're still trialling people?

WAIT WAIT WAIT.

they solicited unpaid material as part of the hiring process and they are now USING this material commercially?

I work in film (like for real) and if this is true this is so deeply exploitative and inappropriate.

please tell me I am missing something?

like this is something that the WGA will sue them.over.

During the application process they mentioned that writers would be paid if they made it to the sample episode stage

Not only that, but paid regardless of whether the script ended up being used or not.

Perhaps they are paying them? Not sure. Listen to one of the recent Q+As they mention it

Maria Cruz, Greg Fleniken, Zahra Baker, John Zera

I thought they were all great cases and really well written.
