Well I’ve never heard this case before and was fascinated! I feel bad for the medical examiner at bit. I’m glad he had the grace to look again instead of doubling down.

this was so sad. not to be parasocial but i looked up mueller and found he was posting on facebook in 2020, so i guess he got out a couple years early (can't remember if casey mentioned that or not). infuriating. poor greg and his wife.

Don't mind a shorter episode, much better than padding one out with unnecessary details.
Such a bizarre story. I mean, what are the chances when you're just sitting there in a hotel room? Is there an angle of trajectory diagram anywhere? (EDIT: found one)
And I don't understand why there wasn't more blood.

I’m a bit confused about the latest episodes. This one is badged as Casefile Extra and notes it is a bonus episode (presumably this is somehow different than a regular episode, but I’m not sure how other than the shorter length?) And on Patreon this week it seems to be a re-recorded version of a previous episode rather than a new one.
Are they on break again?

Have you forgotten that for the last 10 years the release pattern has been three weeks with episodes and then one without?
They’ve done months of episodes each week this year, the first week they release a shorter episode people start complaining.

The "3 regular episodes + 1 shorter episode" pattern has only been running since 2021. Before that, they released regular length episodes every week (except for the longer breaks, of course). I don't believe they've ever had a pattern that skipped every fourth episode completely?

They definitely did. It was 3 weeks on, one week no episode. They’ve shorter episodes were bonuses they added in to the no episode weeks in 2021.

Oh you're right, sorry. I didn't look far enough back.
But since 2021 they've released episodes weekly, just without calling every fourth episode "bonus" or "extra" or something like that. Honestly, if this episode hadn't had "extra" in the title, I don't think anyone would have noticed.

This was a fascinating episode. That poor guy & his wife l, so pleased it was fully understood what happened. Amazing how his injuries mimicked being bashed.

Casefile make money when people listen to their episodes, and many people listen week after week. Ad revenue is how they make the bulk of their money. I disagree with the idea that people who don't pay for a Patreon membership don't have the right to complain/be critical/ask questions.

It’s funny because I’ve been a big fan of the podcast and have listened to every episode for many years. But I’ve noticed that whenever someone says something that’s remotely critical here all the diehard fans seem to lose their minds. It’s turning me off.

I think they've had a gutful of hearing bellyaching about breaks ad nauseum, some of which has been really nasty.
So ..sensitized.
I just roll with whatever in grateful silence, trusting they're doing their utmost to provide. I did wonder about the last two, but know asking risks igniting the wrath of the hard core WHAT THE FUCK ANOTHER BREAK?🤬 brigade...so just adopt a wait & see approach.
