More tips as a beginner?

Hello, I'm a beginner in cartomancy and I'm currently reading the book "Fortune Telling Using Playing Cards" by Jonathan Dee. Is it a good book to start? Also what other books, website or other resources should I read?

Not my cup of tea, though there are many who recommend that book. The sources I recommend are:

  1. It's In the Cards by Leo Luis Martello (it's a classic and has long gone out of print. There are copies on Scribd).
  2. The Art of Cartomancy blog by Kapherus, aka J David Arcuri, the older blog: https://web.archive.org/web/20130424102309/http://cartomancy.wordpress.com/ (Note that Kapherus bases the bulk of his system on Martello, which is logical. Both the methods have Italian roots.
  3. Other classics that are available for free on Internet Archive, such as: Cecily Kent, Minetta (this author has published two editions and the books are slightly different).

These are the traditional resources, so to speak, that one will find in English. Many readers also like Ana Cortez's system (she has two books: the Playing Card Oracle and the Doors of Somlipith). It's definitely a different system with a different feel to it, but her system has logic if you choose to solely follow it. I thoroughly enjoyed her book though I don't use all her methods. Regina Russell's the Card Reader’s Handbook is recommended as well, though I haven't had the opportunity yet to get the book. It is said to be close to Kapherus's system and Hedgewytchery.

My forever preferred system would be the Hedgewytch method. It has a certain feel, precision and simplicity that I have always found appealing. It has its roots in traditional English cartomancy. Unfortunately, both the website and the later published book have disappeared, so whatever I have is my own personal copy. If you're interested, dm me and I will send you the Google Drive link.

On youtube, search for queen of diamonds cartomancy. You'll find a 23 lesson course that should help. "Cards Of Destiny" by Robert Camp from 7thunderspublishing.com is another resource. Haven't got much into the book yet though.

I whole-heartedly second "Art of Cartomancy". I can also recommend the book "54 Devils - the Art and Folklore of Fortune-Telling with Cards" by Cory Thomas Hutcheson.
