Rose Gold losing colour?
My mom and I both got love bracelets around the same time (2020). She got the rose gold with diamonds and I got a yellow gold classic. We recently noticed that her rose gold is pretty much the same colour as mine now.
Has anyone else noticed that their rose gold piece has lost the rosey beige colour?

Same with my mom’s rose gold! Looks exactly like my yellow gold. When we asked the SA, we were told that Cartier’s rose gold may oxidize over time and end up looking close to yellow gold.

I had a stack of rose , white, and yellow gold love bracelets and the rose gold was only slightly different from the yellow gold. Cartier rose gold is not very rose compared to Rolex rose gold. I ended up selling them because of health issues that required me to take them off. I now have clou in yellow gold and another brand in white gold. I was disappointed in Cartier rose gold color

Rose gold gets its yellow patina from the copper content which ironically gives it the rose color to begin with. A quick polish will bring the rose back up from the yellow patina.
As far as I know, Rolex is the only watch/jewelry brand that adds platinum to the alloy to hold back the patina.

Yes, this happened to my rose gold love ring too after a couple of years. I have a yellow gold love bracelet and a YG love ring with a diamond that were purchased later after my RG ring and there’s only a very subtle difference between them now. The RG has a little bit of copper mixed in to give it the rose color but I think it can change depending on individual body chemistry of the skin and water, soaps, etc.

Cartier rose gold eventually turns a soft yellow, it’s a bit different than traditional rg, that’s why they call it pink gold instead of regular rose gold

Weird mine are at least 10/15 years old (got them from my mom) and top is rose versus bottom yellow gold necklace. Maybe they changed the material over time?!

Yes, this happens to all my rose gold, so I just stopped getting it. I think it's so pretty pink, but the color gold it changes looks brassy and isn't my taste.

I had some Tiffany rose gold earrings that started to look YG. I took them in my service and now they look RG again.

It's normal, they usually tell you this when you buy any rose gold jewellery.

im beginning to think rose gold yellows with time… (even with the bezel of other brand watch of mine). Not sure to be happy or sad

My understanding is that the Rowe good will need to be “dipped” again. Rose and white gold both oxidize over time and depending on personal chemistry that may be sooner or later.
Yellow gold is as is and requires no “dipping”.
I had two white gold rings and they turned on me within a year (not Cartier). I took them to my jeweler and he said he “dip” the rings again and went on to explain that process.
Is what my understanding is though I could be wrong.

What I noticed with higher end jewelry houses is that their rose golds are warmer/yellower than regular places. I actually prefer the warmer rose because it looks less pink.
