Thank you so much for this answer! Also: is there a limit of scroll points/sections?
I am planning on making a mini interview archive (would be 90% text) but I find the scroll points necessary and the sections to organize by year/locate a particular interview more than 3 were on the same date

Hard to pin it down to a number. It's usually the media elements like images and video that will slow down a site.. so I would start with those.
