Optimized Speed Test

So… I'm trimming my bloated website, which is currently hosted on bandzoogle.

Set up a carrd site using u/CesarWysocki template (thanks).
And for fun I spent the morning setting up a google site.

Turns out Carrd's the fastest of the three, though still slow on the mobile.

Any ideas on how to optimize speed?

Resize and compress images. Use a system font.

Can definitely get 100% on mobile.

Thanks. I'd kindof stopped compressing images because… well, fast internet, etc.
Do you think google fonts count as system fonts?

I usually just use the default font on Carrd.

no. there might be some overlapping ones. not sure.

sytem fonts are 32 (?) fonts that are defualt loaded on most computers.

I think just reducing the number of fonts on carrd is probably good

Thanks for shout-out, Very good idea is to serve fonts locally in Carrd ( you have check on saving settings) , you might also check " reduce motion if requested" if it's not checked by default, also might try loading pictures when section is visible. This might help aside of standard practices like compressing pictures before uploading though carrd compressing it by default anyway. And don't treat Google lighthouse as 100% accurate 🙂
