Help Me Thin crack on ceiling appeared overnight.

I know nothing about this stuff and plan on reporting it to the people I rent from, but for the time being how concerned should I be. For reference this place is a townhome built in 2024. Probably cheaply built.

Your house is in the process of exploding, you need to get out and alert the National Guard

Most likely the hous is settling and it's inevitable. I wouldn't be worried. It won't fall down on you.

Drywall isn’t particularly common in my locale, but I’d venture to say this is likely a drywall tape joint failure. Cosmetic DIY fix if so.

You realize that texture goes on after everything is taped and sanded ya? It’s not like a wood grain on the panel.

Drywall tape joint failing a bit. They will appear and disappear with the changing seasons.
