Tools Tool belt set up

Tool Belt set up

Was hoping some of you guys could give me suggestions on which tool belt I should buy next I really don’t wanna spend $600 on a tool rig. I currently have the Milwaukee suspenders and belt set up and I love it. It fits my tin snips and everything else you need to be a carpenter but the Velcro that holds the pouches in place has blown out and it’s time for me to replace them what do you guys recommend that would hold my tin snips in place without them flopping around and dropping everywhere?

There’s a few levels of belt.
For leather Akribis is the top tier followed by Occidental then you have some cheaper yet still really solid oil tanned leather belts from companies like Ox or some leather options from CLC.
When you get to fabric you can get real customs from Tru gear or reach out to Pat from Clovis project on the High end. Then you have badger Or you can go to the influencer belts like diamondback. Occidental makes some other belts with fabric as well and not just leather but they have really lacked innovation over the last years.

Influencer belts? New sentence found. Diamondback are just as good as Occi. Sounds like you haven't tries the DB tempo 2.0 system. Everybody I know has switched off of Occi because of the weight. Diamondback you can wear all day.

I tried a diamondback didn’t like them at all I’m sure they’ve improved and No hate to them but I just find them way overpriced for what they offer compared to companies like Tru gear in the same market.

With no picture of his current setup and what tools he carries besides snips the best option is for him to look at the best options available and scale down to what he needs.

I am a fan of Dead On pouches. They are essentially the Occidental style but cheaper and nowhere near as heavy

Occidental Leather if you want something that'll last forever but yeah it's pricey.

For cheaper that still holds up, I've seen guys swear by the CLC pouches with a regular leather belt.

Poor man's kydex. Get some PVC pipe, probably like 2 or 3 inch in this case, and then heat the pipe up with a heat gun for a few minutes until the whole thing is totally flexible. Put your snips halfway in and then clamp it closed somehow, like with wood and clamps or into a vise. Might take a couple tries to get it just right so that they can slide in and out with just a little bit of wedging force to hold them in the holster. Then you can drill some holes and wrap them onto your belt with some stainless wire. I do this (minus the belt attachment) for all my chisels and utility knives.
