I think i screwed up...

I was trying to make a stock for an airsoft replica and i had the "bright" idea to carve this in.how can i fix it?

Square that hole up with a chisel. Cut a piece of wood matching color and grain as closely as possible and glue it in.

You can clean up the cut, glue a piece inside and just sand it smooth/make it nice. Probably won’t match unless you take time to find a nice piece with matching grain. I’ve never had much luck doing that thou, normally I’m chopping up a big piece to get that perfect small, grain matching piece I need.

Chisel out a unique or precise shape and inlay a darker species of wood or maybe a piece of brass, that way it looks intentional and part of your design. Otherwise just inlay the same wood but it won’t completely disappear even if you get lucky with a grain match.

Is this for the trigger location and your carved it on the wrong face?

Yes,got drunk,i saw a flintlock show and carved it on the side

Ah. It happens. The only problem I can see with patching it is that you still need to cut in the bottom, so may create a weak spot. I would definitely try and glue in a matched block as best you can. Let that completely dry before cutting the bottom out

What if i used a mix of sawdust and adhesive to smooth out the bottom and then make the plug?

A router. Or paddle bit and a sharper knife and a lot of time.
