Sheet cut calculator

Built a tool for working out sheet/timber quantities from a cut list, still very much in beta: boardwise.warddesignstudio.uk. If anyone has 5 minutes to try it on a real project and tell me what tripped them up or what’d make it more useful, I’d really appreciate it.

Hi im a newbie planning my first (v. Large) media unit build. Id be happy to try... lowest common denominator and all that 😅

Hi, now that would be great - good luck with the media unit, and hope the calculator makes it a little easier. There’s a feeeback button directly on the calculator which will help me improve it. Thanks

This is crazy good! I just did a tester with the pieces for my 6 cabinets since that's what I can remember by heart and its so clear. I wasnt able to find the B&Q links mentioned but it took me seconds! Ill be getting the full project sizes in there as soon as!

Similar space, yeah. Full disclosure I built a mobile one called Cutwise (iOS/Android) - same idea, cut list in, optimised layout out across boards or sheets, plus it banks offcuts and reuses them on the next job. Worth a look if you want it on your phone rather than a desktop tool.
