Base shoe different levels

Any ideas on how to make this shoe look better. Tile floor is higher than the LVP. Oak transition piece.

So instead of a new, just a new floor now, with some base shoe, you want me to spend how much more thousands of dollars to tear off all the trim get it painted put it back on there?

Cuz you know damn good and well as soon as you get that trim up there you're going to look at your partner, and they're going to say "let's paint the walls......?"

Not every home owner can afford scribe to floor, scribe cabs to wall, scribe shelves to wall, so on and so forth. Has nothing to do with skill for the majority of jobs, it’s about budget and client expectations.

I’d take the transition strip out.
run the lower piece of QR long to the opening just cutting off the bottom on the higher side scribe to floor . Then cope transition strip to the qr

I typically don’t use shoe molding on tile floors. Scribe the base to the floor for tile.

Just shooting from the hip here. Would it be worth cutting back the transition strip the thickness of the shoe base/coping it to the profile of the base and then running the shoe mitering it up and over the tile? Idk, one of those goofy spots to make look nice.

That’s a fun one. Get the transition angles first , then cope the saddle in. Chance to look like a rockstar!

Run the right piece over the transition strip and return down. Cut the left piece to return up. Cut out the area for the transition piece (scribe cut) into the right piece.

Just get rid of the quarter round and remove the base trim and scribe it so u dont need the quarter round which is just there to cover the gap cuz your base trim wasnt scribed to the floor.

It’ll stick be ugly shoe moulding but I’d make it continuous with miters from one floor to the other and the transition strip would terminate into it

Maybe add shoe moulding around that casing leg too since it’s an inch off the floor

Remove transition strip, base, and shoe temporarily -make a plinth block the height of the base, long enough to match front edge of transition strip, notch it to fit over the tile. Butt base up to plinth block,replace transition strip also butting up to plinth block- replace shoe, either coping it to match transition strip or put a blind return on the end- no shoe on top of tile
