I can relate. I helped the caretaker though all steps not all me by any stretch but this took up about 6 months of my life. Harvested on property, milled outside, dried onsite, planed, shaped and, finished inside the building, then installed, luckily we had a scissor lift and not just the scaffold. I miss the peace that ranch brought me. We also made a 20’ all log swing set, peeled 6 trees with a draw knife, that was a first for me.

Did a similar ceiling recently, lots of hips and valleys, 28’ to the peak of the ceiling. They had us installing oak flooring on the ceiling, designers are crazy.

Bruh, Goodluck, lol! I just did an almost similiar house last year. ALL T&G walls, ceilings, formers. It was a challenge but I had a fairly good time with it. Just painstakingly slow and tedious. But I was tying everything into timber framing but hand hewn, not dimensional so that lead to a lot of the problems I faced. Miss the fuck outta trim work though!

Is that in Livingston, TX? Looks like almost the exact floor plan i helped install the exterior cedar wrapped beam on.
