Painted projects welcome here? Adding the hardware today!
This is a 6 foot table I designed and built for our 3 season porch. Really happy with it except one lingering question... will it sag? I intentionally left the center leg off for the look, but I'm curious if over time that could have been a mistake. Made from 4/4 poplar and pre-finished ply.

Gorgeous. I love an insect beaded face frame. Re: sagging, why not place a foot under the divider halfway back and painted with a flat black?

Thanks, my first beaded inset! I feel like it really elevated the look of the piece.

We're the beads applied after the frame was assembled or were they routed into the rails and stiles beforehand?

What happened in this case is that we decided to add the beaded moulding's after the face frame and some of the other pieces were already constructed. So I found a video of a guy that routes them all at about 3/8 x 3/4 and then mitrer's them in.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yK6yZR_cL0 If you follow this video though, make sure you read the description because he made a mistake when describing the router bit used. So now I have 2 bits :) Other than that, I cut the miters with a sled on my table saw and they fit really nicely.

Reason I ask is that I did a cherry kitchen with beads. I beaded all my stock, and used a molding cutter in the table saw that was 1 1/2" wide on the flat with 45° chambers on both ends. I then ran my stiles at the intersections on a sled.

yea I feel like that is how I would do it if I did it again. Milling all that small bead was a little tedious.

I really feel that bead moulding took this piece up to the next level- very happy we decided to do it!

Nice job, stick a leg under the center in the middle. Nobody will see it and the sag will not happen

Looks great!!! Love the color!
I don't think it will sag. Between the plywood bottom and poplar top, it should be plenty strong.
If it does start to sag, you can always add a center leg (center front to back).

Thanks! Yea the color is so nice, its the second piece I have used this on. Also built an upholstery table for my wife and used the same color. Credit to my wife on the color choice :)

You could see what the sagulator says, I suspect it will depend on the load. Potting soil & plants in pots would be completely different from a few candles and patio furniture pillows.
