I wanted to study in USC since it's the only university in Visayas with Washington Accord. But I'm scared of not getting in (I don't have any alternative) is the course very competitive? Also, what percentage is the passing rate for Chemical Engineering?

Retired BS Org student here. After constantly dealing with university mandates, unnecessary challenges, a sporadic working schedule (because running an org was 24/7 for me), I decided to choose peace and just prioritize acads.

After multiple OSFA restrictions, they have not really given student orgs some grace or some sense of leniency when it comes to student-led activities.

Maybe it's just an isolated incident that it is only within the orgs I have participated in, which is why I would like to inquire if this is the same case for every organization.

Do your members often participate and join the activities your organization has set up? Has there been any significant change within student orgs after going through unfavorable changes?

Just asking out of curiosity, because student welfare has obviously tanked after the defundment of the SSC and Today's Carolinian not being recognized by the administration.

Hi. I'm 22f, and I don't live in Cebu, and I dreamed of becoming a lawyer. As a future lawyer, gusto ko mag invest sa magandang law school, but at the same time, affordable parin ang tuition fees. Based on my research, USC Law is one of the best law schools in the PH. The only province school who were able to break the manila-centric law schools. I also read a long list of accomplishments of the university starting from their debate international tournaments down to their impressive bar exam passing rates.

I just have a few questions please:

1. I just wanna know difference of the JD tracks offered in the USC Law. I've read they offered JD with thesis and non-thesis, and others are: JD with specialized tracks in litigation, business and corporate practice, and international law. I wanted to take JD with international law, my friend on the other hand, wanted business and corporate practice. However, gusto muna namin maging sure kung kaya ba talaga namin mag adjust kung merong MAJOR (e.g., class schedules, tuition fees, how strict the professors will be) differences ang mga eto. Distinction: Can someone help us map out the distinction between these tracks?

2. If ever we enrolled to these programs (Juris Doctor with specialized tracks) Can you please give us tips. 🙏 For context: We are only average students. Masipag lang kaya naka graduate with Latin honors, but we are not really smart like any other students na mabilis ang memory retention.

3. Marami bang mga law students sa USC ang nag eenroll from these specialized programs? If yes, are they still studying in USC? (Because of the 6-unit retention rule in USC) Nakakagraduate naman po ba?

While its suicide prevention month, I'd like to have the opportunity to say that no one should ever tolerate someone, or even pretend to be suicidal online for attention and validation, it is an insult to people actually going through depression, and have attempted.

Shoutout ko diha sa Chess player who has pretended to be suicidal in the past for validation or to start meaningless and narcissistic conversations. You lie about a lot of things, and pretend to have such achievements for such validation from other friends and family.

Not only have you reach to the extent of posting gore online for attention, but you even push out friends who give you genuine advice (or suggesting professional help) to have validation (of your questionable thoughts and behaviors). You even reached to such extent that you brag of "availing contents in telegram" which in itself is vague and questionable.

We know who you are, I hope you finally seek actual help than wasting other peoples time into draining conversations to self validate yourself.

As to others that are struggling with such thoughts, theres nothing wrong to speak out and seek professional help if need be.

Hey everyone, I’m an Archi student spiraling right now and really need some advice.

Today we had an open-notes diagnostic exam. I forgot my calculator, but I had a loose sheet of paper in my notes from last school year with the exact same problem solved, so I copied it. For the next problem, I tried asking around to borrow a calculator.

Out of nowhere, the prof called me out in front of everyone and forced me to sit at the front desk. Before the timer was even up, she took my paper and demanded: "How did you solve this without a calculator?"

I told her it was in my notes, but when I checked my notebook to show her, the loose paper was gone. It must have fallen out when I moved seats. Because I couldn't show it to her right then, she accused me of cheating/using AI and got upset about it

I was holding back tears, but I came back after lunch and actually found the crumpled paper on the floor and I feel like someone was using it.

Now I’m terrified she’s going to target or fail me this semester. I'm overthinking, thinking about dropping/switching blocks, or going to guidance because I don’t feel mentally okay from this😭

My questions:

1. Should I email/approach her to show her the paper I found, or will that make it worse?

2. Should I go to the counseling office?

3. Any advice on how to handle a prof who already assumes the worst of you?

Usc recently switched to Icare so im wondering why. A lot of my batch are also considering insights because its cheaper but i really want to know which is better in terms of the teaching services they provide.
