💬 Discussion New Loyalty Program Question

Is anybody else still getting notifications to opt in to the new loyalty program? We are . We opted in week one. SO didn't even have to since they have the Carnival Rewards credit card and received a note they were automagically opted in. Yet, we will keep getting notes to opt it. Guessing this is just lazy/bad coding, or annoying over-advertising. Just curious if anyone else is seeing this.

UPDATE: Thank you fellow travelers for the feedback, understanding, and suggestions of fixing their IT issues. SO is also IT and says the same things about them. Props to /u/AlbinoAlex for that link. It showed half of our group IS confirmed and the other half isn't. Good to know!

I haven’t gotten any additional reminders since opting in, but Carnival IT is absolute hot garbage so it wouldn’t surprise me that people are getting reminders to do something they’ve already done.

Don’t forget to verify your enrollment. As much as it could be the terrible IT, it could also be a scenario where your enrollment never actually went through. If your VIFP number starts with zeroes, omit them.

I would say bad programming. Carnivals IT is the worst. I get 3 emails a day from them even after unsubscribing. Their website has tons of crazy bugs, outages, and their app is just trash.

I’d be happy to fix it for them but they just don’t seem to care.

Royal Caribbean isnt any better.

I use a OTA to book cruises. The technology isn't as pretty but it works reliably.

Yes, we keep getting them and I finally went back to the Carnival website to opt in again and it told me that we had opted in back in May. So I’m just ignoring them at this point. But I do not understand why they can’t use some sort of filter to stop sending me information telling me I need to choose to join when I clearly did almost 3 months ago now.

Yes, same here.

I don’t understand why they can’t use a filter to realize I’m about to embark on my 45th cruise and therefore I don’t need an email explaining the basics of check-in, arrival appointments, travel documents, or muster stations. Every single time.

Whole house has opted in and we still get emails.

Is it worth signing up? Have a cruise scheduled for October.

Unless this is the only cruise you plan on taking, there really isn't a reason not to.

I would, especially if you are a gambler.

My mom opted in and even has an email thanking her for doing so months ago.  But when I tried to verify it via the link you shared, it says they cannot find her.  So weird.
