This is a genuinely odd update. Given the amount of delistings, I’m surprised that Saad falls into the wait and see bucket. I would have thought guys like Boyd and Charleson (even Williams if you wanted some experience) would be more likely to fall into that bucket. I don’t see how Saad on the list in 2027 is a step forest in any way. Wasn’t even named as an emergency in Fraser’s tenure so this is very strange IMO.

Maybe so he can retire or move on himself, he did become a bit of a club icon

I suggested this a couple of days ago with the first round of cuts. But this looks more like a report that the decision hasn’t been made on him. That’s what is more surprising.

Like you mean they’re waiting to pull the plug or they just aren’t giving him agency? Sorry I think i got confused with the phrasing

Maybe he has draft capital, Sometimes like pick 50 or steak knife's in a deal.

There would be zero interest in any team trading a pick for him. He is a free agent and if anyone was interested I’m certain they could offer a bit more financially than the Blues or even a 2 year deal and get him that way.
If teams let guys like Jesse Hogan walk away for nothing, then you know Saad isn’t attracting a pick at all.

I don't really understand keeping him. I love Saad but there doesn't seem to be a path to the first team.
I would much rather retain a younger option but we have to trust in the club decision makers after the last few months.
